While this started as a rumor, we may possibly have another celebrity politician on our hands. Following in the footsteps of Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steven Seagal is now considering a possible run for Governor in Arizona.

The action film star has become politically involved with the controversial Sheriff of Maricopa County, Joe Arpaio, in a reality tv series called Steven Seagal – Lawman: Maricopa County. Seagal’s connections with the Sheriff could hinder an election to Governor, however with the relationships he has built with the TV show, Seagal has developed some political passion for some issues in Arizona, including illegal immigration.

Regarding the number one issue in Arizona, Seagal responded, “I think it’s open borders,” adding “I think that across these borders any kind of terrorism can come, and does come.”

Let’s not forget the image of the current Governor of Arizona, Janet Brewer, with her finger pointed in President Obama’s face over the exact issue of border control in Arizona. The possibility of a Governor Seagal could be a smooth transition in the state of Arizona.
