President Obama won the Kentucky and Arkansas primaries yesterday, but as in West Virginia, he took a bit of a black eye in doing so. Kentucky Dems gave “undecided” 42% of the vote and in Arkansas, an unknown named Joe Wolfe won 41% of the vote.

The Republic takes a look at Romney super-aide Bob White, who is been with Mitt since his Bain days.

The latest Quinnipiac poll has Romney ahead in Florida by six points. Is this bad news for potential running-mate Marco Rubuo?

Speaking of Rubio, don’t forget to cast your vote in the Veep Madness Final Four, where he is in a virtual dead heat with Paul Ryan for a spot in the championship.

    Polls are moving right.
    And, I know that’s right.
    Now, there’s no more fight
And, no need to be uptight!

Florida at +6 Romney: not bad!
Is that with or without hangin’ chad?
    Virginia’s moving right – I’m  glad.
    Ohio still makes me sad…

Great to have a good man watching my back.  But, I’m just not gonna let anyone bring me down.  Hot Flash:  I voted early here in Texas and I voted for Romney!  It was not nearly so painful as I thought it would be.  Fact is, I thought of Brian H and wondered if he got one of them ESPN jolts you hear about.  Anyway, I am example of the “ultra-conservative” who is also the “ultra-pragmatic”.  I only have one point to make: defeat Obomb.  I honestly believe we are on our way and I am on the train!

Did you have to partake in alcohol consumption prior to casting your vote?

            • Whodat

In fact, no.  It was the first day of early voting and I was there at about 9 AM.  I never start drinking before 9:30.  Just one of my personal rules…

Of course, since my name also appears on our ballot this time, I was most eager to vote and to appear under control whilst doing it!

Not worried. If you go to real clear politics (RCP), and line up all their toss up states (AZ, CO, FL, IA, MI, MO, NH, NC, OH, VA, WI), I can see Romney winning most of them, except maybe MI & WI. All others are very winnable, some very clearly so.

Strongly likely: FL, NC, VA, NH, AZ, OH, MO (gives him 270)
      Possibilities: IA, CO (+15)
      Toughest: WI, MI (+26)

My prediction still stands: close through the summer, but once the R convention is done and the country hears him more clearly (and hears the same old prattle from BHO), it will shift to Mitt in a big way.

IDEA: Is there a way we could rig up an interactive map where users plug in their predictions state by state and submit them to our Esteemed Editors (“May they live forever!”) as a contest? We could see who gets it right the closest. Have a deadline like 1 week before the election so it involves some plucky guess work knowing things could change on a dime in that final stretch. Or could we utilize another site’s map and submit them to you guys? Just an idea.

          I can see it coming down to a 269 – 269 with a Nebraska / Maine split.
