Rick Santorum has come out with an endorsement of Barack Obama, if the other choice is Mitt Romney. Is this the beginning of the end? Are the campaign pressures getting to Rick or is he right?

Santorum’s gone stupid, stupid, stupid. This is his Waterloo.

ANY Republican choice is better than Obama. This is clearly a violation of Reagan’s 11th commandment not to speak ill of fellow party members.

You know Boy Blunder is going to usee this repeatedly in the general campaign as “proof” he’s better than Romney. Thanks for handing over all this ammo to the enemy, Ricky boy.

      Bad? Yes.

      Will Obama use it?  Yes.

But, c’mon, its not like we’re gonna have to forfeit the entire “Obamacare” issue!

      Wait….oh, nevermind.

You know that is NOT what he said.

When your choice is Romney or Obama, who will you vote for?

        None of the Above

I thought you said two days ago you were going to hold your nose?

          • Anonymous

I said you shouldn’t be upset when I refuse to hold my nose.

It certainly sounded like he did. Tell me what he meant then?

So you missed the part from :20 to :31? Santorum said the following:

If he’ll be a little bit different, we might as well stay with what we have instead of taking a risk on what may be the etch-a-sketch candidate of the future.

Santorum is clearly saying America is better off with President Obama than a Republican.

I’ll quibble a bit. He’s saying America is better off with Obama than Romney.

Semantics maybe, but a distinction worthy of nothing I believe.

        • https://twitter.com/#!/PD_Scott Scott A. Robinson, Editor

I don’t see the distinction. However, it appears one Troy La Mana has gone Brave Sir Robin and run away!

I work during the day so this is the first I’ve been able to respond.  David hit the note I was indicating so nothing more needs to be said.  He basically said there would be no difference between the two.

Troy….I think the funny-farm is calling you back for a check-up!  You know that is EXACTLY what he said!  Even Gingrich came out swinging against Santorum for his words – and so has DeMint, Rubio, and nearly every Conservative pundit on talk radio and FoxNews!  This, after Santorum PLEADS with Democrats in Ohio to come vote for him as well!  And also after Santorum’s misrepresentation of “etch-a-sketchgate”….he’s getting desperate because he knows he is going to lose!  So funny how, back in 2008, Santorum was out campaigning FOR Romney as the most Conservative candidate, and endorsed him for POTUS…in these last 4 years since then, Romney has NOT changed one thing in his ideology nor his platform in core Conservative principles – but, all of a sudden, Rick says Romney is a moderate/liberal, and that we’re better off with Obama?  Yeah, whatever!  Santorum is a loser cry-baby!

        I agree,
Romney has NOT changed and that is why I couldn’t vote for the ’08 Romney and I refuse to vote for the ’12 Romney.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to the Rick Santorum that we know in Pennsylvania. The one that lost his senate seat to a Democrat with a unibrow by 17 points. And it wasn’t that close.

    I won’t say I told you so, but…

    • Raul

Is that the same Rick Santorum that helped bring us the deciding vote on Obamacare: Arlen Spector?

    • Anonymous

You are correct with the Unibrow, but it helps said Unibrow when his last name is Casey and his dad was one of the most popular Guvs in PA’s history. Even I liked him (the dad, that is – the son is a lousy lib).

That being said, it doesn’t make Santorum any less of any idiot, nor his defeat any less stinging.

      • David Kaiser, Editor

I also liked his father RSE. I don’t think junior is a lib, he’s actually a bit of a moderate, though not as much as his pops.

Unbelievable.  Unforgivable.   Unimaginable.  Certainly, we have all reached a point of frustration over some unattained goal or other of life’s disappointments, but Rick Santorum has given aid and comfort to the enemy.  I’m heartbroken as I had so much respect and admiration for that young man and his principles.  On the other hand, a major component of the “wisdom of age” package is understanding the nature of politicians and the political system; it is essentially designed to disappoint us.

So, as I have disembarked from the last remaining ABR train, I turn more doggedly toward my golf cart (I seem to always be pursuing things that frustrate me greatly) for my life’s ride.  On election day, I will start drinking very early and pause just before the polls close, get a safe ride, back into the booth, close my eyes, hold my nose and… vote a straight Republican ticket so that I do not even have to acknowledge the name at the top.  But, after inauguration, I shall be here, worshiping at the alter of “I told you so”.
