Mitt Romney and Ron Paul both go after Newt Gingrich in Iowa. Meanwhile, Romney has pulled ahead of Paul in today’s PD Composite: Iowa. Gingrich 32.2%, Romney 18.6%, Paul 18.5% on the strength of Romney beating Paul in the last two Iowa polls. The New York Times says Democrats “are hoping to help stretch the Republican nominating contest [between Gingrich and Romney] into a longer and bloodier battle”. The Euro is still in trouble. Its failure could have cataclysmic effects on the world economy, as the European Union GDP is slightly more the than US GDP. Finally, 24/7 Wall Street says that the states who do the most to “spread the wealth” also have the highest cost of living.
