Jason, havee you lost some weight? Lookin’ good on the ol’ tube there, bro.

    • Whodat

Au contrar. I’m thinkin he needs to bulk up. We could lose him in a high wind!
      .
      Think “Super-size, JW
      .
And, Red State, this suckin’ up to the boss is a little inappropriate…

      • Red State Eddie

        Flattery will get me everywhere…

  • Whodat

We CONSERVATIVES hunger for good, red sirloin, but are offered only stale hamburger. As a result, I fear we will be served 4 more years of a real turkey!
    .
Cain’s train has been derailed – if not by the truth and the whole truth – but by what the lawyers call a “preponderance of evidence”. Not since Tiger Woods have so many white women had so much to say… Does Herman ever eat breakfast at Perkins?
    .
Romney avoids interviews so that nobody will be able to tell what he fears they will know. (Hint: the label “RINO” is relatively a compliment!)
    .
Newtered Newtie, as his momma called him, exudes educated epistles to excuse his irascible errancy.
    .
The rest, placed end-to-end, still would not reach far enough to matter.

I’m out of answers. Let’s phone a friend!

What is your definition of a conservative, Whodat?

      • Whodat

Ronald Reagan. But no so much farther RIGHT that it becomes LEFT or kookie.

  • Troy La Mana

At what point do you detract from Romney for not moving higher in the polls for at least six months?
The powers that be are firing both barrels at Cain and it looks like he is weathering the storm. I just don’t think you can dismiss him because the Left, or his rivals, are scared of the possibility of a black conservative resonating with a historically democratic demographic.

    • Brian H

      Tory.
Just because someone does not favor your candidate of choice does not mean they do so because they are scared. Yes. I am scared of Cain in the sense that I believe a Cain nomination would be an overwhelming defeat for not only Cain, but many Reublicans in 2012. I don’t oppose Cain because I fear him, I oppose Cain because I fear Obama. Why do you always make assumptions about people’s motives on why they don’t like your candidates? Clearly I have stated the many many reason many many times why I oppose Cain as a candidate. I have done so ad nauseam for most in this forum. For you to ignore my intellectual arguments and oppose your own views onto my views is so “liberal” like.
      .
Please, Troy. Playing the race card? Seriously? That is so 20 years ago.
      .

I can’t detract from Romney for not moving up in the polls any more than I can celebrate him for not moving down. It is what it is. Mitt is a frontrunner, but, a vulnerable one indeed. He his strong and steady, but not overwhelming. Do I wish were Mitt were up by 20 its over Cain? Sure. Am I glad he is still showing well even among the ABR mindset? Sure.

      • Troy La Mana

Do you really think the Left relishes the thought of their biggest demographic being split to a Conservative? That’s not “playing the race card” that’s cold hard facts.

Limping along towards the nomination doesn’t give me very much confidence should Romney win. Hiding from anyone who wants to interview him doesn’t instill confidence either. You know I don’t like him as a candidate based solely on the issues. If he wins, you could have a large segment being sick and tired of the lesser of two evils going for an independent candidate or just staying home on Election Day.

        • Troy La Mana

They might even just concentrate on making sure Republicans take the Senate and increasing their hold on the House and just let O have four more years as a lame duck.

          • Whodat

4 more years of czars, executive orders and watchin Moochelle strut her stuff, spendin our stuff? I don’t think so. Whatever it takes. Whoever it is. Wear a clothes pin on the nose and go vote to get this fool out of office!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When someone or several gain a substantial lead on Jim and can hold it.

    Nice analysis.

In horse racing there are front runners, stalkers, and closers. During the race there is a clock that racks the horses as at each quarter poll. A strong but steady pace is 24 secs at the 3/4 and 48. at the 1/2 poll. For a front-running horse the goal is to get out from and take a lead, but not blow out that clock as if they do they will likely fade and allow stalkers and closers to take the lead in the end.
    .
I would say for Mitt he has been a steady frontrunner but has not taken a huge lead in links. The race has been about a .48 flat at the half, or even slower, which is good for Mitt because his stamina and staying power seems to be holding, although his lead is not widening. At this pace he will finish strong and will likely have enough in the tank down the stretch to win comfortably and steady, but not huge.
    .
There has been a lot of speed in the early 1/4 of the race but these pace setters have already dropped back. For a stalker, like Newt, he has a chance. But, at the current pace, unless Mitt simply runs out of gas, it will be tough but not impossible for Newty to challenge down the stretch.
