If you didn’t hear NPR correspondent and part time Fox News contributor, Juan Williams, was fired yesterday for remarks he made regarding Islam and Muslims. I think he just was being honest and saying what many people feel anyway. The irony in this is that the people who are coming to his defense are not the “tolerance” minded crowd on the left, but the evil right. Sarah Palin blogged it in the Weekly Standard today. “I don’t expect Juan Williams to support me (he’s said some tough things about me in the past) – but I will always support his right and the right of all Americans to speak honestly about the threats this country faces. And for Juan, speaking honestly about these issues isn’t just his right, it’s his job. Up until yesterday, he was doing that job at NPR. Firing him is their loss.

I agree with Sarah on this. NPR has made a huge mistake and has shown their true colors (not that it was a big surprise to the PD crowd). Defunding them and using that cash for something else might not be a bad idea.

They were just looking for a reason to get rid of Juan. Seriously, it all has to do with Soros now pulling the strings for NPR (as their most recent donor of a large sum of money), and his war against Fox News.

I’m waiting for Al Sharpton to go all nuts because they fired a black guy…..

    Dear NPR,

Dorks run your organization. It’s time to go dark.

    Sincerely,
    The American Public

Juan, with whom I seldom agree,
    Has become a public celebrity!
Fired for an honest opinion, he?
Perhaps, but more for his Fox TV.

Seems Moslem statements that he say,
We’re not PC. Uh-Uh, no way!
So NPR, looking for an excuse, they
Were rude and crude, “Juan, go away!”

To me, the core issue about Juan
Is how conservatives et al have begun
To rally round this liberal son:
Saying, “In freedom of speech, we are one.”

Welcome Juan, to Fox and to our side!
    We don’t expect your views you’ll hide;
“Fair and Balanced” is real, not implied,
So we welcome your debate and liberal pride.

Good luck and Best Regards to Juan!!!!

I’ve felt that PBS, NPR, the Natl Endowment for the Arts etc should be all defuned for a while now, and I come from a family that is committed to arts eduction, art in the community, grew up on Sesame Street etc. Since NPR is happy to take George Soros money and apprently do his bidding now…sigh.

I’d defund PBS as well. Government doesn’t need to be in the TV and Radio business anymore.
