Barack Obama promised the most transparent administration in history. In his Memorandum on Transparency and Open Government, he commits to “creating an unprecedented level of openness in Government. We will work together to ensure the public trust and establish a system of transparency, public participation, and collaboration. Openness will strengthen our democracy and promote efficiency and effectiveness in Government.” The full document on openness in government can be read at WhiteHouse.gov.

I guess that only applied back when Obama still believed everyone loved him. And it certainly doesn’t apply when one of Obama’s core base groups is protesting him! Didn’t they get the memo?

Americablog posted the below video of capital police closing Lafayette Park (next to the White House) to prevent reporters from covering a “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” protest.

So, when do we get to the transparent part?

Don’t be too hard on the guy. He only said what his teleprompter told him to say. ;-)

What’s sad is that so many people actually bought his sales pitch.

It is a bit ironic that I viewed this clip while watching a movie called “The Lost City”, with Andy Garcia, about the Cuban Revolucion. The same time the video wass playing showing the officer removing the press the movie was showing a Cuban officer informing a club owner that his music could no longer conatin a saxophonist.

I hate being melodramatic, but, our future is still an unknown. What we think can;t happen can happen. The people are speaking but those in power continue to seize more power.

    ….about the video.

    Viva la Revolucion!

The media will never turn on Obama, he is their guy and the Dear Leader of their political party. At times the media will attempt to be critical of Obama in an attempt to appear to be holding truth to power but in the end they will do all within their power to get him reelected.

The media hates Republicans more than they love America.

I agree that the media is starting to turn, at a snails pace, but they are turning.

I think it will be interesting to see what people like Rachael Maddow do… LGBT rights is a favorite or hers. Will she support them or the President? Regardless, it will be fun to watch.

    I’m seeing some transparency here…

UPDATE: U.S. Park Police spokesman David Schlosser tells POLITICO his service erred in pushing the reporters back, and stressed that the White House played no role in the move.

“That was strictly the U.S. Parks Police that screwed up – that has nothing to do with the Secret Service of the White House or the Administration,” said Sergeant Schlosser. “We had some young officers who, when they were told to move the people back — which we typically do when we’re going to make arrests – they moved the people back a lot further than we typically do. That was a rookie, amateur error and they screwed up on that.”

That is just the Parks Service falling on the sword for the Obamanation.

I think his transparency pledge is all part of his “Big Lie” strategy. Tell the big lies, that are so big, they must be true, and do something different. Sadly some are still believing the big lies he and his people are telling.

I remember when Clinton made all sort of promises to the homosexual community…and then he ignored their issues. The homosexuals took a while to catch on, but were quite mad.

This time around, they didn’t wait. They saw no action from Obama and are raising cain.

    Where was the protest?

  • Pdiddy

actually i think you’re starting to see the media turn a bit and the tone of the briefings has changed dramatically

it’s still not where it should be, but there is evidence that the msm is growing tired of the games

He also said that taxes would not be increased on anyone making more than $250K. Yet only days into office he raised the cigarette tax. I’m pretty sure smoking isn’t confined to those only making over $250K.

This President is President due to the finest marketing campaign in the history of America. He says all the right things but does whatever he wants because he knows the mainstream media will not hold him accountable for his actions.

It is amazing to me that the press is too scared to take on this administration. What happened to Freedom of the Press? Why didn’t a single reporter refuse to move without being told why the park was being closed?

    Has no one read this?

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
