Maybe old Uncle Arlen should steer clear of contentious townhall meetings. His public appearances aren’t helping his poll numbers. Today, Rasmussen has challenger Pat Toomey leading Specter by a 12 point margin.

Does anyone know if Kaiser and Toomey have ever been in the same place at the same time? I’m thinking Kaiser is Toomey.

Specter faces a tough primary challenge from Joe Sestak. Sestak is a former Vice Admrial who won a tradionally Republican seat from a 5 term incumbent and then won reelection with nearly 60% of the vote last year.

If Sestak beats Specter, I think he’ll beat Toomey.

If not, I, er I mean, Toomey may have a punchers chance.

I agree that Sestak has potential. His challenge is getting out of the Philly suburbs and all over Eastern PA, because his name recog is low out here in the boonies. His other challenge is that the entire state Dem leadership have all endorsed Specter (up to now) without hesitation. I think they’re going to be in a pickle, because with that endorsement comes the money.

Toomey will be challenged either way, but I agree that Sestak is the greater challenge in the general election if that’s the matchup.

      Ha! I knew it!

I would bet a Democrat takes over the seat considering the demographics of the state.

Aren’t all of Arlen Spectacle’s town halls contentious these days? I think the whole state of Pennsylvania is about ready to string him up and play pinata with him…sadly there are no candy guts inside.

When you make comments that sound like you’re not very interested in representing your voters, that doesn’t seem all that surprising.

I only wish that I were as close to a nice, cushy retirement as Spector is…

He’ll soon be fishing and golfing and writing his memoirs…

Whodat’s memoirs would also be interesting, but he can’t remember most of it… Especially the 60′s
