Good article in The Washington Post on Bobby Jindal jumping into the health care debate. As the article notes, Jindal is highly qualified in this area. In addition to serving as Secretary of Louisiana’s Department of Health and Hospitals (at the age of 24!), he has served as executive director of the National Bipartisan Commission on the Future of Medicare and Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for Planning and Evaluation, the principal policy advisor to the HHS Secretary.

I agree with the author, Chris Cillizza, that there is no reason for Jindal to rush into the 2012 presidential campaign. As he notes, he won’t even be fifty years old by the 2020 campaign.

I like Jindal, and I hope he’s able to put behind him his rocky national debut as Republican responder to Obama’s February speech to Congress.
