Never one to say "I told you so",
But, I questioned Sanford weeks ago
When I asked, "Sanford? Who is he
Who is GOP front runner suddenly?"

I mentioned "pretty boy,empty suit"
And no real record. What a hoot!
Maybe we leave Pole Position open;
Not annoint a new pretty boy hopin'

Maybe better to just put "TBA"
And wait for a LEADER to push away.

Man, take a few days off at the family farm, and look at everything you miss!
I have to agree that he should either resign or take a leave of absence while he sorts out the details of his personal life. Fiscally, it doesn't appear to have been questionable, since CNN reports that he paid for this trip himself. Professionally, on the other hand. . .

Because the man abandoned his state for several days so he could be with his "friend" in Argentina, all without any regards for his responsibilities as the Governor of a state.

Because his extremely poor judgement has exposed his mental state as possibly not being fit for command.

Because he traveled to Argentina on the people's dime so he could hang out in bars with his "friend" in Argentina.

When a person's "persoanl life" causes the people who have intrusted them to lose that trust and confidence in their honesty and abilities to govern it is time to go. Public officials represent the public. If the public of SC believes this man should go, we....adios (as they say in Argentina).

Why should he resign?

As long as he did not play foul in his office as gouverner, there is no reason, I think. His personal life has nothing to do with his office and policies.

Well, in Clinton's defense, he *did* perpetrate his indiscretion in the Oval Office and not in another hemisphere.

Lots of politicians travel on tax-payer dimes. The trip was not to have an affair. But, that convenient fact is obviously being overlooked.

Sad, but I agree that his presidential aspirations are toast.

Sanford Singing.......

chorus:
Don't cry for me Argentina
The truth is I never left you
All through my wild days
My mad existence
I kept my promise
Don't keep your distance

Don't cry for me Argentina
(chorus)
Have I said too much?
There's nothing more I can think of to say to you.
But all you have to do is look at me to know
That every word is true

gee... if POTUS (Clinton) can have an affair and not be distracted, I would think a state governor could handle it, too.

Oh, but wait. I forgot... only Republicans are distracted by personal issues.

And on the CNN ticker, Sanford took <a href="http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2009/06/25/sanford-took-taxpayer-funded-trip-to-argentina-last-june-2/" rel="nofollow">a tax-payer funded trip to Argentina last year.
