Me. Ok, maybe not just me. How about me…and my Posse?

Yes, dear reader, I was as surprised as you to find out that I – and people like me – are directly to blame for the current global financial crisis. That’s right. My “people” are responsible for the decline in your home’s value, the evaporation of your 401K, and anything else that has resulted from the economic decline. My Posse is the root of all your woes.

So, go ahead. Take your best shot at us. We can handle it. We are, after all, descended from Vikings and are well versed in the sacking of coastal villages.

Lest you think I’m entirely making this up, check out Brazil’s very own President Luiz Ignacio “Lula” da Silva as he expertly explains the origins of the economic downturn:

This was a crisis that was fostered and boosted by the irrational behaviour of people who were white and blue-eyed, who before the crisis they looked like they knew everything about economics, but now have demonstrated they know nothing about economics. The part of humanity that is responsible should be the part that pays for the crisis.

Video from Sky News can be seen here.

For those of you unfamiliar with Lula, he’s Brazil’s version of Barack Obama – only he actually had a political record prior to running for the Big Chair. Lula is an old school union thug riding a Latin American populist wave along with Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez. His years of working the leftist trenches has taught him to play the victim card along with the very best.

So, if you happen to share my white skinned, blue-eyed genetic markers, make sure you’ve got a good place to hide next time you see the mob armed with pitchforks and torches. They’ve grown tired of AIG and you’re next.

Of course, maybe he wasn’t talking about me. Maybe Lula is blaming the whole mess on Xuxa.
