Though I’m far from a Rush Limbaugh fan, his power with the Republican’s conservative base is hard to ignore or mitigate.

I found this article in Time that I think really lays out not only the current issues swirling around Rush and the GOP, but I also think it gives us a good synopsis of the state of the Republican party.

Here’s a snippet:

In one camp are those who believe that the Republican party must modernize its message to account for changing circumstances. The columnist David Brooks has called these people the “reformers.” Against them are the “traditionalists,” who believe that Republicans need only recommit themselves to Ronald Reagan’s agenda to succeed again.
