I think Obama and the Dems have made a big mistake with their choice of Rush Limbaugh as the latest conservative to demonize (see George W. Bush, Karl Rove, Newt Gingrich, John Ashcroft, etc.). For one thing, Rush doesn’t have a policy role. He’s not a candidate, an officeholder or an adviser. And for another, Rush has a megaphone to fight back with. The old adage was, never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel. That goes double (maybe triple) for a talk radio host with 20 million listeners.

They’re making a big deal that Rush doesn’t “poll well” with independents and moderates. So what?!! Rush isn’t running for office. His goal is to spread the conservative message to anyone and everyone who will listen. This effort to demonize Rush just raises his profile and gives him the opportunity to reach millions more who don’t listen to his radio program.

Rush to libs: Don’t throw me in that briarpatch!
