Fred always makes me chuckle when he speaks like this.

Centralizing power with the goverment, especially the executive branch, what movie those that remind you off? Kinda like Star Wars.

    Merry Christmas anyway.

  • Tobias

its sad that in the age of Sarah Palin, a moronic, simplistic rant like this can be seen as the intelligent, articulate wing of the Republican party

    • Gary Russell

      Yes, I agree.
Tt IS unfortunate when those who disagree with others have to resort to name-calling and unsubstantiated attacks on their intelligence.

      So sad. So sad.

      • German Observer

Wow, Gary, to read a sentence like this on PD is quite unexpected.

        Sarcasm-modus off.

Wish you and your family a merry christmas!
        G.O.

      • Tobias

agreed. the entire McCain campaign as sad. so sad

        • Gary Russell

Congratulations, Tobias, on your “intelligent, articulate” response!

          G.O. – ain’t sarcasm a hoot?
          Glad that you enjoyed it!

Though i see things leading that way. Call me a conspiracy theorist but to think that we are not continually centralizing more power (first to washington, now to a world government) is to be naive. When the “economic crisis” started, it quickly became an excuse for multiple nations working together on economic policy which has led to many calling for a world body to regulate international commerce. It is clearly unfair for us to use dollars and others to use euros or yen since each value can be adjusted by the issuing government…so obviously we need one world wide money and to do that we need one government. The UN currently has plans for a standing military force which all participating nations would agree to contribute to.
And no, i am not wearing a tinfoil hat…just paying attention. Something we seldom seem to do as we obsess about which president looks better without a shirt. (By the way, thanks jason for not making that pic of obama a photo of the day)

    • JE

sorry, should have nested higher with prior comment.

It almost seems like what goes around comes around again, much later, with a different wrapping, but essentially the same thing.

Depression era language and culture… (30′s)
    Binding alliances vs. isolationism…(pre-WW1)
New “league of nations”, this time economically…(1920′s)

No, but the question has a ring of truth to it.

If Ron Paul didn’t raise questions about Iraq I would bet he would have gone a lot further.

My hope is he runs again in 2012.

    • Dave

Yep, you are right. I liked Ron Paul’s positions on evrything except Iraq, and keeping our noses out of the worlds business. That was the rat poison in the cake.

I still have a question in my mind, How far do we go to protect someone else’s citizens??? Do we go to war with Russia if it attacks a Nato Ally???? I am sorry, the taste of lots of americans dying for someone else kinda drives me to the libertarian position at times.

Fred is getting Oreilly’s Spot on Radio.

      • German Observer

“Do we go to war with Russia if it attacks a Nato Ally????”

Yes Dave, you do, because that is part of the contract. And it’s fair. The only thing that made me nervous recently was, that everybody – and McCain and his lovely running mate in the first line – promoted the idea to invite Georgia to become a NATO-member. That would be a desaster in the making.

        • Dave

Thats what I meant, everyone offering a badly damaged Georgia NATO all of a sudden, It was like wait a minute!!!

Hey Whodat, you need to make a rime of the 10 important things in case of war with Russia, my first priority is my family staying alive!!!

I agree with NATO defending allies, that is fair and it is a alliance. But then, expanding the alliance to other nations other than those already members needs to be considered carefully. The only country in the russian area that I would consider for NATO would be Ukraine. Georgia, sorry, small, already weakened, and not worth the risk.

          • JE

Of course, as the UN becomes more powerful, we will eventually get to the point that if anyone invades anyone else we will be obligated to send troops and go to war anyway.
Though once we all come to understand the need for a one world government, all boundaries will be removed and there will be no more senseless wars over territory. Hopefully our ‘citizen of the world’ president can hurry this along.

            • Gary Russell

              One world government?
Is this sarcasm, or do you sincerely want this?

              • JE

                SARCASM!!!!

                • Gary Russell

Had me worried for a minute there, JE! Thought you had really lost it!

            • Troy La Mana

You know as well as I do that the UN never actually does a thing. They just wag the collective finger and then go hide in the corner expecting America to do the dirty work.

              • Dave

Move the UN to Iran or palestine. I’m Sick of paying for them to blast america.

  • JE

    Gotta ask, troy…
Did you post this because he sounds like he is reading from ron paul’s writings? Yet when he does it everyone says ‘where was this during the primary’ as opposed to calling him a kook. I guess it goes to show the messenger is more important than the message in these times…oh wait, we elected barack which already proved that.

  • Red State Eddio

    Loved it!

Where was that Fred in the campaign??

    • David Kaiser

Fred is too lazy to be president. He ran because his wife wanted him to.

  • Dave

    Hahaha, ROFL, that was good.

Too bad he didnt get a better campaign based around that kind of video.
