The Chicago Way?

There exists the very real possibility that the Obama presidency will be distracted with the constant drip, drip, drip of scandal and corruption. Consider today’s breaking story on (soon to be former) Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich being frog marched out of his home this morning by gun toting federal agents. According to the report, Blagojevich exclaimed

Is this a joke?

Nope, Rob. This is what happens when you and your chief of staff try to “sell” a US Senate seat.

The report also has some excerpted comments from Blagojevich using some creative conjugations of the F bomb to describe the man he helped put in the Oval Office.

And, just in case you were wondering the name of the US Attorney charged with investigating and prosecuting this alleged crime? None other than Patrick Fitzgerald – of the Plame affair fame. You’ll remember the cheerleading evident among the left as Fitz relentlessly pursued an indictment and conviction of Big Time Cheney’s chief of staff Scooter Libby.

I wonder if we’ll see that same cheerleading as he pursues Blagojevich’s Senate Seat Sale and investigates Obama’s smelly, shady, and quasi-legal home financing deal with Slum Lord Tony Rezko.

Drip, drip, drip.
