A few worthy candidates for me:

1) Nancy Pelosi - What leadership...I mean seriously, what leadership?

2) Unions - As long as I get mine, who cares if the ship sinks?

3) The RNC 2006-2008 leadership team. Faced with some serious forecasted headwind, you did nothing to prepare for the '08 election. Brilliant work, guys and gals.

4) The "brain trust" behind legislation like CRA. Nothing like GWB declaring us to be an "ownership" society with the highest % of home ownership only to find out in 5 years its all a sham because of scenarios like illegal immigrants walking into a bank, barely speaking English, and walking out with a $700k mortgage while only making $15k a year.

5) Wall Street Credit Companies like S&P and others who passed along re-packaged mortgage securities that were grade C- but turned into AAA CDO's. You greedy jerks, playing the shell game with bad mortgages. You were the only ones who could have stopped this reckless train, but you didn't. Shame on all of you.

I'm going to steal Kaiser's thunder and throw out Ted Stevens as my turkey. He might be s republican on paper, but he hasn't been a conservative in many years.

And NOBODY gobbles taxpayer money like Ted.

I'd also like to extend the Turkey Award to Nancy Pelosi... I don't believe an explanation is needed.

Awesome post.

I'd like to extend that Turkey Award to the union folks who are at the heart of the auto industry crisis. What a bunch of turkeys!

My 2008 BIG Turkey award goes to the 42nd POTUS, William Jefferson Clinton.

After 8 years of an insignificant two terms in office, the former POTUS and "first black President" now finds his legacy in the history books squeezed between Ronald Reagan's Cold War legacy, George W. Bush's War on Terror (regardless of what you might think of W, insignificant can not be said), and now Barack Obama's historic election. Bubba truly needed Hillary to return him to the Whitehouse to try to build on his purposeless two terms. This did not happen.

What will history books say about Bill in 100 years, not much. FMLA, NAFTA, and "don't ask don't tell" should get little play in the grand scheme of things.

For this reason, my award goes to Bill Clinton.
