How Obama got elected

Their votes counted as much as yours.

This came from the post in the Right Wing News about a multi-choice Zogby poll:

57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing).

81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing).

82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing).

88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing).

56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).

Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes.

Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter.

It’s not that average voters don’t know anything. They know what the liberal elite establishment wants them to know — and nothing more.

Obama didn’t win the election; the media won it for him.

    Wow.

The gal with a pink sweater and glasses impressed me. She’s at least attempting to learn, and self-aware enough to realize what she may not know.

NPR, PBS, CNN, MSNBC, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart – boy, now there’s some seriously unbiased and objective journalism and entertainment.

The most perceptive and insightful line of the whole video: “I don’t trust the media to know where that is coming from.” You betcha!

To be fair, neither Bill Maher nor Jon Stewart are journalists by their own admission. They say what’s funny, and they have no requirement to be fair and balanced. They are comedians.

Damn that Tina Fey! I always surprised with that Russia line caught on, considering the fact she never said it. How dare SNL not make satire of elections!

We live in a country where we get to vote, and that’s wonderful, but there will always be a lot of idiots out there who don’t do their homework!

I at least felt informed enough to make a valid decision on whom to vote for. These people didn’t use any of the brains that God gave them to learn the issues. It just makes me sick!

    Awesome video!

I have seen plenty of this kind before, even here in Germany.

Just to be fair, it would be interesting to conduct a similar series of interviews among republican voters. How many of those could answer these questions? And how many of these could find Afganhistan and Iraq on a map, would say Obama is a muslim, a terrorist, socialist, marxist etc.

Finally, I guess, we have to ackwnowledge that regular users of Websites like PD belong to the “information-elite”, which makes a share of 5-15% of the overall population. That the higher share has not clue about politics makes a great part why campaigns were invented.

After reviewing this poll further, I believe that this poll was biased. I didn’t really much into it at first, but this is definitely a push poll. Considering who conducted the interview, John Ziegler, a former conservative radio talk show host. Of the 12 people interviewed for the clip, 7 are black;however, about 23% of Obama supporters were black. It’s not really that representational. It was done only in Los Angeles. When you consider that, due to its sample size and apparent picking of obama supporters, you can see what Ziegler was trying to accomplish.

It was a really biased poll, and should not be used as a reliable resource for gaging the media’s favouritism towards Obama’s campaign, if in fact, there was any. Its a real pity that Republicans cannot look inward to find the problem, and instead have to look at the quality of voters, biased news media, etc for someone to blame. Its never their fault, and if they continue that selfish form of politics, their future success will be unlikely. It happenening over the world: Australia, NZ, Italy, next British PM, will all be prograssive. Sorry about the waffle, but yeah. This is not an academic video. It possesses a real bias.

Also, if the video is accurate, the question order troubled me too.

It amazes me that people dont understand that the media is supposed to be unbiased and report only the facts with no slant. That is what the video proves, as a Conservative I didn’t like john McCain as a candidate, most of us don’t consider him even a Republican. Obama is a socialist not a progressive. Dave from mass learn to use spell check you idea would have more weight if your words were spelled right!!!! Moron.
