This post may start a firestorm, but my conscience is bugging me. And I feel it needs to be said, especially before tonight, so here goes.

If you are pro-life, and you are going to vote for Obama, then I want to do 2 things: 1) Finish reading this post, then 2) call your doctor and schedule yourself for an examination of your mental faculties. Obama is not pro-life. He’s not even pro-choice; he’s nothing less than pro-death.

I am especially targeting those coming from the same spiritual family as me (evangelicals, Protestants, and Catholics) who are voting for the Oba-wan. I’m going to be blunt: You are an imbecile. You really are.

I realize name calling may not be an appropriate way to resolve a conflict, but I’m not trying to resolve one. I am starting one. I might even question the seriousness of your spiritual identification if you think you can abide with your own conscience and vote Obama after realizing what he wants to do to the next generation of kids in this great land of ours.

This is not a governance issue; this is not an economic issue. This is a moral issue that will cause irreparable harm to the people and fabric of our society. A society that does not value life will not value much else. Democrats are always whining about the poor and downtrodden in our society, especially their mortgages and medical care. Well what about the poorest and most defenseless of them all who don’t even have a voice, much less a mortgage?

How does Obama hate unborn kids? Let me count the ways:

1) Repeal the Hyde Amendment: this amendment means I as a pro-lifer do not have to fund abortions not done to save the life of the mother, or from rape or incest. Abortions for any other reason are on your own dime. The abortion industry hates this limitation, which is why those who profit from abortions are thrilled about Obama’s position to repeal it. In Maryland, where a bill similar to the one favored by Obama was enacted in 1991, it is noted that ”abortion rates have increased by 8 percent while the overall national abortion rate decreased by 9 percent.”

2) Install FOCA: This legislation would install a fundamental right to an abortion at any time in the pregnancy, as well as abolish ALL limitations, state and federal, including parental consent and notification laws for minors and “conscience protections” for pro-life citizens working in the health-care industry-protections against being forced to participate in the practice of abortion or lose their jobs. “The first thing I’d do as president is sign the Freedom of Choice Act,” he told Planned Parenthood.

3) Illinois Born Alive Amendment: IBAIPA was introduced in 2001 to provide legal protection to all just-born babies, wanted or not, including the right to medical care. State Senator Barack Obama voted against Born Alive 4 times in 3 years and was the sole senator to speak against it on the Senate floor in ‘01 & ‘02. In 2002, the Federal version of Born Alive passed unanimously in the US Senate and by overwhelming voice vote in the House. Even the pro-abortion group NARAL even went neutral on the bill. But in 2003, Barack Obama voted against the identical version of BA in Illinois with the same language inserted. Then, for the next 4 years he repeatedly misrepresented his vote until it was recently discovered in the IL General Assembly archives.

4) Partial Birth Abortions: Obama opposes the ban on this hideous practice, and has stated that women’s equality requires access to abortion on demand. He also wants to strip federal funding from pro-life crisis pregnancy centers that provide alternatives to abortion for pregnant women in need. Does that sound like “choice”?

5) Cloning & Stem Cell Bill: Obama not only wants to authorize mass production of human embryos for research in which they’d be killed, he endorses a section that would in essence require the killing of the child. It would even make it a federal crime for a woman to save an embryo from death if she first agreed to have the tiny developing human being implanted in her womb to be brought to term and killed, and then changed her mind and tried to save it. Do you realize what this sounds like? Chinese-style enforced abortions.

”Decent people of every persuasion hold out the increasingly realistic hope of resolving the moral issue surrounding embryonic stem-cell research by developing methods to produce the exact equivalent of embryonic stem cells without using (or producing) embryos. But when a bill was introduced in the United States Senate to put a modest amount of federal money into research to develop these methods, Barack Obama was one of the few senators who opposed it.”  – Robert George, Witherspoon Institute

6) Pregnant Women Support Act: A group called Democrats for Life has pushed for this bill meant to reduce abortions by providing assistance to women facing crisis pregnancies. Obama has yet to offer any support whatsoever. Instead, he’s opposed key provisions of it, like offering medical coverage in the CHIP programs for it. I guess universal coverage stops at delivery. Here’s the kicker: this isn’t outlawing abortions, just giving kids and moms medical assistance, and giving those who want to a chance to deliver the child instead of abort it. Even Ted Kennedy voted to include unborn children in CHIP. Obama doesn’t even want the mom to have a choice. That’s not pro-choice, that’s pro-death.

7) All of this of course funded and sanctioned by your tax dollars and laws.

Obama is so extreme left in his abortion positions that not even most members of his own party support his views. Biden calls it a choice, but says it’s a private one, not one that should be subsidized by the American taxpayers.

It’s not just death as a choice. It’s death as a right; it’s death as an industry. “Death to America” could be his abortion position slogan.

Yet there are sites that parade around saying “Obama is pro-life, He loves the unborn, he hates the idea of abortion.” Funny way of showing that.

Either Obama is lying to our faces (which could be a possibility, as blasphemous as it sounds), or these cultish followers have checked their brains and their faith at the door and left them behind in their quest to adore him, regardless of the cost to our society and the moral issues and implications of his policies. For you pro-lifers, that means you’re being “used and abused,” as we used to say.

Have you noticed that it has not been discussed in any formal public forum between the candidates in any way, shape, or form? Why can’t it come up as a point of discussion tonight? Because his staffers know Obama would be vilified by most Americans by endorsing infanticide like his record shows. McCain has missed the golden moment by pointing that out.

Are we so absorbed and panicked about the economy that we cannot pull our heads out of the sand and see the startling differences between the two candidates on this one? I’m not a McCainiac by any stretch, but it’s a no-brainer for me when it comes to who honors and upholds the dignity and value of life. Open and shut. Case closed.

Think about it: If both candidates have arguably similar economic policies, wouldn’t other factors like being pro-life vs. pro-death make a difference to you?

So pro-lifers, make a choice of your own: Vote for someone other than Obama, or please pick up the phone and call your doctor now.

UPDATE: Since the debate, Obama’s starting to take heat for his clearly confusing comments on his history with IBAIPA
