Seeing that six Brazilian politicians are running for office under the name of Barack Obama, I got to thinking. Cultures often name their children after famous pop stars or historical figures; and in “Barack” we have both, especially if he wins.

I grew up in Western New York, and I had lots of classmates named Jason, David, and Stephen, but not one single Barack. Will the schools be registering record numbers of Baracks four to six years from now? I have my doubts about finding many in the schools I grew up in. But hey! The times, they are a changin’.
