To contain John McCain’s remarkable upswing of the past few weeks, Democrats hang on every breath Sarah Palin exhales hoping for a gaffe or misstep. I can understand using this tactic when you have Joe Biden on your ticket.

Their favorite thus far is her statement that Alaska is close to Russia and this bolsters her foreign policy experience. That certainly was a strange and unconvincing argument, but I would remind Democrats of a quote from Barack Obama on ‘Good Morning America’ last year. When Robin Roberts questioned his lack of foreign policy experience, Obama replied:

“Well, actually, my experience in foreign policy is probably more diverse than most others in the field. I’m somebody who has actually lived overseas, somebody who has studied overseas. I majored in international relations.”

Well, I’m convinced. That was an undergraduate major by the way. To be fair, the senator also gained foreign policy experience during his overseas trip that Mike Huckabee so accurately coined “Barack’s Excellent Adventure.”

So NOW Democrats consider foreign policy experience a vital credential for a potential president of the United States. Someone should notify all those super delegates and liberals who supported Obama in the primary that things have changed.
