Because it’s a horserace…

If Obama loses…

Posted on September 6th, 2008 at 8:37 pm by Gary Russell

In an attempt to be “fair and balanced” I logged on to Slate.com (painful though it was) to see what the less enlightened are saying these days.

I came across this article:

If Obama Loses: Racism is the only reason McCain might beat him.

By Jacob Weisberg

Read the entire article for a good laugh (or long sigh).

My favorite part:

“If it makes you feel better, you can rationalize Obama’s missing 10-point lead on the basis of Clintonite sulkiness, his slowness in responding to attacks, or the concern that Obama may be too handsome, brilliant, and cool to be elected. But let’s be honest: If you break the numbers down, the reason Obama isn’t ahead right now is that he trails badly among one group, older white voters. He does so for a simple reason: the color of his skin.”

…too handsome, brilliant, and cool to be elected.  Yeah, that’s it!!

I can see the Obama ads now:  “Hey, you bitter rednecks out in the heartland!  Don’t hate the Chosen One because he is so much more handsome than you.  He can’t help it!  So he IS smarter than you - don’t be afraid.  He will talk down to your level so that you can understand his brilliance.  Vote for Obama, and you, too, can be cool!”

For every 1 person that will vote against General Zod-Obama because he is black there are 50 who will vote for him because he is. If he were not African American a presidential run would have never been considered.

The world of liberalism, like Jacob Weisberg, revolves around guilt and victim-hood. The stories following Barak’s defeat in November will based on the liberal assumption that America is still not ready for a black candidate.

Over the last 40 years the Whitehouse has been occupied by Republicans for 28 of them. This fact should have helped liberals come to a very simple conclusion….America is not ready for liberalism.

      Sorry…..almost forgot my own headline…

      If Obama Loses

Liberalism is the only reason McCain might beat him.

I clicked over, but couldn’t stand to read much of the diatribe. What a bunch of BS.

It could also be said that the only way he would win would be because of racism.

Most sites with any liberal lean (in other words, most sites) have had articles recently which are to the point of being nauseating. Earlier in the week, either Salon or Slate had an article by a female physician who tried to argue it was hypocritical that Palin had her baby once she discovered he would have Down’t syndrome. Her argument was that 90% of women abort in that situation and that Palin is rich and privileged and therefore can afford a special needs child whereas most cannot. Therefore, Palin was a hypocrite by being staunchly pro-life and wanting to force others to have babies that might have birth defects. Sick logic. Though, Obama would probably not weigh in on such a topic since it would be above his pay grade…he will just let his surrogates bash her gun-toting, bible clinging ways. And if you call him sexist, you are obviously a racist. Ugh. Can we please end this campaign now?

No one likes to talk about Obama’s race and Palin’s ‘gender effect’ more than liberals.

It is truly sad how they try to take voters’ eyes off the ball (policy and how it affects your life) and onto candidate identity.
