Brilliantly delivered and very likely will close the deal with any remaining GOP fence-sitters.

  2. Alaina Segovia on 03.09.2008 at 22:38 (Reply)

Smart, funny, sophisticated, and straight to the point all wrapped up into one speech.

  3. Gary Russell on 03.09.2008 at 22:48 (Reply)

Not since Ronald Reagan have I heard my values and concerns articulated so clearly and forcefully by someone who I feel that I can trust.

  4. Red State Eddio on 03.09.2008 at 22:50 (Reply)

Exceeding expectations, electrifying the crowd, enamoring a country; it was a tour de force from a force to be reckoned with.

  5. Pdiddy on 03.09.2008 at 23:04 (Reply)

bar was admittedly low and she sailed over it

  6. kristen on 03.09.2008 at 23:06 (Reply)

Fabulous, articulate, and savvy; I’m starting to like McCain. (Gasp!)

  7. J on 03.09.2008 at 23:24 (Reply)

Strongly delivered and well received by the crowd, the speech focused too much on attacking Obama and not enough on the issues.

    1. David Kaiser on 04.09.2008 at 06:40 (Reply)

I agree, but I also think both sides are spending too much time on attacks and not enough time on issues.

That said, she answered the bell strong and loud, and silenced some of her and McCain’s critics by looking strong and confident.

Nice Kaiser. That’s TWO sentences. You university types are all the same.

        1. David Kaiser, Editor on 04.09.2008 at 09:39 (Reply)

Its my two sentence reaction to Gary’s once sentence reaction.

            Huh? Am I missing something?

  8. Brian H on 03.09.2008 at 23:49 (Reply)

    Will you marry me?

  9. dw on 04.09.2008 at 07:35 (Reply)

Palin for President (posted on behalf of my wife)

Positively electric, showing both wit and wisdom, and definitely up to the task of debating Biden - or Obama for that matter - she is the Democrats’ new nightmare.

    1. David Kaiser on 04.09.2008 at 08:11 (Reply)

I don’t know that you can say that for sure. She sounded great, but she was also in the middle of a love fest, with a teleprompter not getting any questions.

      1. Gary Russell on 04.09.2008 at 08:36 (Reply)

But, much ado had been made by the MSM earlier that she had never even USED a teleprompter. She seemed to pick that up pretty easily.
And she didn’t exactly sound as if she will wilt under questioning!

        1. David Kaiser on 04.09.2008 at 08:49 (Reply)

I think she did great, but using a teleprompter in the political equivalent of a homecoming game is not quite the same as a live debate against a seasoned opponent.

I’m not saying she’ll look bad, I’m just saying that her performance last night is only a small step towards holding her own against Biden.

I’m actually looking forward to the VP debate more than the Presidential debates.

Wow, you just keep stretching it, don’t you??? :)

    Mahvelous. Absolutely mahhhhvelous!

  12. 2X on 04.09.2008 at 07:58 (Reply)

It was FULL of substance and direction for the country, well laid out plans for the economy and a great direction for our foreign policy in the world we live and she definitely showed that she has great experience and deserves to be the vice presidential pick….Oh, and today is opposite day!

    1. Pdiddy on 04.09.2008 at 08:04 (Reply)

      what are you, 12?

      1. Gary Russell on 04.09.2008 at 08:38 (Reply)

Don’t know if he’s 12 or not, but my 13 yr old daughter thought the speech was great.

    2. Jason Wright, Editor on 04.09.2008 at 09:38 (Reply)

      I agree with Diddy.

2X, do your parents know you’re on the computer again without permission?

      1. David Kaiser, Editor on 04.09.2008 at 09:40 (Reply)

        Maybe it’s Patrick incognito?

  13. Mike on 04.09.2008 at 08:12 (Reply)

    Obama/Biden Who?

  14. Eric on 04.09.2008 at 08:17 (Reply)

Sarah Palin is only a heartbeat away!
(Credit to Ann C. for turning that concern into a motto.)

  15. Eric on 04.09.2008 at 08:21 (Reply)

Yes. There are more big tests ahead. But she passed this one, and looked like she was having fun, too.

  16. Dale Wittler on 04.09.2008 at 08:39 (Reply)

The picure of what concerned citizens in this country can do with a little fortitude and concern for the common good.

  17. Clint on 04.09.2008 at 08:47 (Reply)

Exactly what the Republican Party needed!

  18. David Kaiser on 04.09.2008 at 08:56 (Reply)

I do think she’s shown that she can do one of the main jobs of a vice presidential candidate - be an attack dog. Her shots at Obama were biting and effective, and I think if she can continue to do that, while maintaining her “outside the Beltway” appeal, she will land sledgehammer blows to Obama’s change message.

  19. Red State Eddio on 04.09.2008 at 09:42 (Reply)

Think about all that she had to cover:

    1. Introduction of self- “Hi, I’m Sarah Palin!”
    2. Bio sketch of self and family
    3. Briefing on her experience as Gov, etc.
    4. Affirmation of J-Mac as party choice
    5. Clear shots to the opponents
    6. Defend self against recent criticisms
    7. Come across sounding human, lively, and ready to play with the big boys.

That’s quite a list to tackle in 30+ minutes, with applauses and cheers, while a good thing, taking time away from actually speaking.

That’s an impressive list, and that was an impressive message.

  20. Fabs on 04.09.2008 at 10:43 (Reply)

    She’s my she-ro.

  21. east-of=eden on 04.09.2008 at 11:04 (Reply)

A spoonful of Palin helps the McCain go down…..loved it!

  22. Magycian on 04.09.2008 at 12:14 (Reply)

    Reagan in a skirt…..

  23. joe on 04.09.2008 at 12:26 (Reply)

In appealing to moderates, Palin was perhaps a tad too aggressive, but the most important thing for her to do here was establish that she is a worthy VP and not a joke, and she did this very well.

  24. Richard Matthews on 09.09.2008 at 13:57 (Reply)

SHE is the ONE we have been waiting for!

  25. Misha on 10.09.2008 at 13:40 (Reply)

Reagan would have been proud and the first to say she’s not the new Reagan but the first Palin!
