Because it’s a horserace…

“I didn’t do anything wrong” and “what does a VP do?”

Posted on August 30th, 2008 at 9:28 pm by Stephen Fountain, Editor

Let me begin by saying that the appointment of Sarah Palin was a deft political move. Obama’s acceptance speech? What speech? McCain’s selection of Palin was up there with “I’d rather win a war and lose a campaign… (you know the rest).”

But this recent interview with Larry Kudlow and the bottom of the ticket doesn’t exactly inspire me.

Hat tip to our friends at the Politico.

Did she use the word ‘cool’ two times? ;-)

At least she’s honest. I don’t think anyone really knows what a VP does until one is in that situation.

The probe doesn’t bother me. Replacing cabinet members with more productive individuals sounds like good governing to me. Besides, Biden has his own skeletons to worry about. (Plagiarism anyone?)

I like that she speaks plainly and that she doesn’t back away from the tough questions. Since this was some time ago you would think the MSM would stop saying she fired the guy for not removing the state trooper when she clearly answered that question here.

Methinks the powers that be wanted to take her down any way they could and it’s not going to work.

My guess (could be way off, or just wishful thinking) is that this “What does the VP do?” and comments made elsewhere about not knowing anything about what’s going on in Iraq are simply attempts at deflection. I don’t really believe she’s ignorant, but that she (poorly?) chose those words to take the VP focus off her. Every potential nominee that I heard interviewed said how great what they were currently doing was.

BTW - This is more proof that Palin was anticipated by speculators. This choice may surprise us, but it’s not “out of nowhere.”

What about a potential first lady in a hot pink cast?

I’ll see your hot pink cast, and raise you one orange pantsuit.

i saw liberal slob susan estrich last night on fox admit that half of the emails and texts she’s getting from friends, who are mostly hillary diehards, are admitting they excited about palin and will vote for her

    wow

Maybe because of the opinion piece she wrote stating that would not happen.

Is it threatening for the Hillary Camp to consider that there was some (don’t know how much) support for Hillary simply because she is a woman? Does that marginalize or negate some what she’s “earned”?

More likely it points out the sexism on the other side of the coin.

I saw that article and as I read it the only thought that came to me was that Susan was hoping to God that she could stem the tide of Hillary supporters running to McCain/Palin.
