Another hint from Drudge?

Posted on August 29th, 2008 at 7:33 am by David Kaiser, Editor

Late last week, Drudge had a photo of Joe Biden and Barack Obama at the top of his main page, and I speculated that it could be a hint as to Obama’s pick, which proved to be the case.

Now Drudge is saying that both Romney and Pawlenty are not the pick, but there is a mock-up of a campaign button with his portrait and the portrait of his running mate. Those of you that frequent Drudge know that the front page changes virtually minute-to-minute sometimes, so who knows how long the button stays up there.

The person in the photo is…

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

Can Drudge go two-for-two in the photo prediction game?

And now Drudge reports Sarah Palin is still in Alaska, and not in Ohio.

And there is a photo of McCain with…

    Joe Lieberman.

Who will remember that Whodat bet
That Lieberman the VP slot get?
Not that I’d be happy ’bout it, no,
But, I’d not be surprised at Joe.

Whodat thinks Big Mac will hurt his newfound conservative “base”

Not too important, but Cindy McCain just got back from Georgia. Did any networks cover this?

Can you imagine if Michelle had gone to Georgia? The media circus would have started the war all over.

If true, I think it’s funny both candidates picked a VP that basically takes away the main attack against the opposing side.

Palin has even less experience that Obama in the public scene, as she was elected in 2006, while Obama was in 2005. Obama actually has foreign policy experience as a member of the Committee of Foreign Relations.

Biden, on the other hand, has been in Washington longer than John McCain, though they spinned it saying that “Washington never changed him” and “He takes the Amtrak back home everday.”

I think this pick may do that to a certain extent J, but let’s not forget that you want your experience at the top of the ticket.

The VP still has time to learn (Lord willing).

I have to agree with J here, I think this hurts the McCain argument about experience. Granted she’s the number two, but the Obamanics will be quick to point out McCain’s age and past health issues.

McCain’s mom is still going, and S. Tubbs Jones just died suddenly.

Isn’t it tacky to suggest McCain has one foot in the grave? The official Obama campaign can’t go there to suggest that there won’t be enough experience in the White House when McCain croaks. But even if it does, I would still vote to Palin for PRES. before Obama or Biden.

I don’t know that it’s tacky, considering that’s basically why the Vice Presidency exists.

John McCain is 72 (Happy Birthday Senator!), went through years of hell as a POW, and has a history with skin cancer.

Combine these facts with the immense amount of stress the President of the United States faces on a continual basis, and I don’t think it is unreasonable to be concerned about the man.

I don’t know that Obama would do it, I’m just saying it is not an impossible scenario, and should be at least examined.
