her efforts for good. Let's count those, shall we? I know that in at least one of the houses she owns, she allows an elderly aunt to live without charge. No telling how many other similar favors she has done and is doing. When Michelle and her husband open their enormous home to a handicapped child like the McCains did, I'll believe their story. With $4 million a year, it should be no problem. Until then, anybody who will spend $20,000 a year on various kinds of extra-curricular lessons for two children is completely out of touch'

More Thoughts:
1. ALL FOUR of the McCains and Obamas are covered in political slime. Who is slimier is irrelevant.

2. Spouses are fair game. Period.

3. Anyone involved in the campaign or pushing policy is fair game, including grown children.

4. These half-sibling issues will gain no traction (politically). America doesn't care.

5. Remember how Margaret Kramer responded to President Kramer when he said, "It's a kick in the b***s. Sorry, sweetheart." She said, "Please, I'm a politician's wife. I have a set of my own."

So Cindy McCain doesn't claim a woman she didn't grow up with as her sister...ok.

Cindy's dad made the will, it's not her responsibility to give this other woman anything. ESPECIALLY if this girl is wanting money, not some fond keepsake to remember her dad, but money. Something tells me that if Cindy's dad wasn't loaded, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I see spouses aren't off limits now, the left can't complain next time Mrs. Obama makes an unfortunate comment...which she will.

Cindy isn't cold I don't think. She had a very long-term addiction to very strong pain killer drugs (reforming drug addict).

Such heavy drugs can have a long term effect on the brain in terms of permantly changing the chemicals such as serotonin and others. Its called reuptake; it's the same mechanism involved in depression and the like.

Cindy's mannerisms and what seems like cold behavior mirrors those behaviors of people who were drug addicts, particualrly to Viocodin, which was Cindy's drug of choice. It's a very strong drug.

If you care to read some of the literature, search under drug addiction and serotonin reuptake mechanisms. Also long-term effect of Vicodin addition.

Standford University has done much research in this area. As has the drug addition center run by Joe Califano.

You will notice sort of a gaze on Cindy's eyes at times. Also sort of a stone stance, as well as a blank look that some likely take as being cold. That's the same pattern the researchers have found exhibited in the addiction folks they've studied.

Cindy has said she has recovered from her drug addiction, although research says in 90% of the cases recovery must be a lifetime action. Perhaps she attends 12-step programs or the like. Hope so. But I believe she isn't cold, rather that you are seeing the effects of her drug addiction.

No, Cindy's cold and we all know it. We just don't really care. I don't like McCain and I don't care about his wife, until she opens her mouth about public policy and tries to take an active role as an un-elected official. I think that picking on her because she said she was an only child is pointless.

We cared about Hillary because she tried to have an active role in her Bill's administration. Remember she was going to head up health care reform? We really cared about that. If Cindy tries to have an active role in the administration, heads up a health care committee, or anything like that, then the long knives come out. Ditto for Michelle...

I could be wrong, but the point seems to be that while the focus is easily shifted to Michelle Obama and America's "fear of a black first lady" (see http://mirroronamerica.blogspot.com/2007/05/michelle-obama-latest-racial-rorschach.html for an interesting take on this)- Cindy McCain can slip into the shadows- apparently where she is most comfortable. I agree, who cares if her recipes are homemade? But since when has plagiarism been acceptable? Of course, this is only a minor infraction for this experienced criminal. But who really cares? We aren't judging the next president on the first lady's behavior right? If we were, well, then that becomes a bit scary.
"In 1989, following two back surgeries, Cindy McCain became addicted to the painkillers Vicodin and Percocet. To keep up with her daily need of 10 to 15 pills, she used other people’s names for prescriptions and stole drugs from the American Voluntary Medical Team, a mobile surgical unit she’d begun in 1988 to provide emergency medical services around the world. A 1993 DEA audit of the amount of painkillers her charity had obtained quickly uncovered her thefts. She avoided prosecution for those crimes through an agreement with the Justice Department in which she submitted to drug testing, paid a fine, performed community service in a soup kitchen, and joined Narcotics Anonymous."

We could also talk about her mysterious friendship with Mr. McCain that resulted in their marriage a month after his divorce. Perhaps her habitual deceitfulness is why it matters that she "is an only child".

Is Cindy's half-sister living in a 6ft by 9ft shack on $12 year in Africa?

I dont think the General-Zod camp wants to play the half-siblings game....as Daddy Obama seems to have kids in slums on every continent.

Does anyone here care that she doesn't have her own recipe for cookies and mousse? Who here (or for those of us who don't cook, know someone)hasn't used a receipe on the back of a Hershey's package or from Rachael Ray? Is it really a big deal? Are you not going to vote for her husband because she doesn't have a homeade recipe?

If she wasn't raised with her half-sisters and rarely saw them, then who cares? I'd probably think of myself as an only child too. Her father's sins are not her own.

Are you seriously critizing her for being a business woman? What's wrong with that? I'm a business woman and proud of it! And so what if she has Anheuser-Busch stock? Millions of other people do too and made money off the same deal. Are they wrong too? Or are you just saying she's wrong because she had more stock than the "average" person?

As for Michelle, stay at home mom my fanny. She was a lawyer and is out on the campaign trail campaigning in an official capacity every day. I fail to see the "stay at home" part.

As for Michelle, stay at home mom my fanny. She was a lawyer and is out on the campaign trail campaigning in an official capacity every day. I fail to see the “stay at home” part.

Obama as a stay-at-home mom? I don't think part-time status as Vice President for Community and External Affairs at University of Chicago Hospitals qualifies her as such. And while Cindy is making money in the private sector, Mrs. Obama is getting million dollar favors towards her hospitals from her Senator husband. And what's wrong with Cindy having a career? The children are grown.

Go ahead and hate 'big business'; but they help keep the economy humming.

I too am trying to find the point to all of this....

Rumor has it that Cindy's non-existent sisters (if they really do exist) regularly visit the gravesights of Donald Nixon, Billy Carter and Roger Clinton (well, maybe not Roger. He could still be alive)--three former Presidential siblings with style.

Could we be seeing the making of a return to Presidential family fun? Hope so--the campaign needs some excitement.

Just read Jerome Corsi is turning his attention and writing to John McCain as a way of showing he isn't merely anti-Obama. (Jerry says he is supporting the Constitution Party candidate, not McCain)...Perhaps Corsi can dig into this matter using his unique journalistic abilities. This Bud's for you Jerry.

Can I sell you the 14th street bridge? If you think the Obama's are nearly as slimy as the McCain's you deserve to be in your current situation. I sure hope you never complain about this country's leadership, 'cause that's what you're gonna get with McSame.

Sounds like a good ol' American dysfunctional & broken family with sibling rivalries and money and a dad who might have been rich in dollars but poor on the love & maturity. That's more American than apple pie and Chevrolet. Lots of people can relate to that mess.

Next time she's at Saddleback, she can confess that to Pastor Rick as her worst moral failure--the inability to acknowledge and appreciate her distant sister based on the atrocious modeling of a selfish dad.

And the grounds of her "lies" is that she is a sharp businesswoman? And that she's trying to hide that?

Seriously, is that the best you can do?

Incidentally, according to Gallup, business people are higher up the approval scale by Americans, more than state officeholders, congressmen, ad execs, car salesmen, and lobbyists. Even the Pres enjoys better ratings than Congress.

Come on, is this the best you can do!?

<i>"The half sisters had little contact growing up and have not spoken since Hensley's funeral in 2000."</i>

When you are raised alone, that is called being an only child and that is what she meant - she was raised without siblings. Please, move on to something more substantial. I know we like to joke a lot around here and are not always serious, but this is stupid. Post something we can sink our teeth in and debate about or at least something that is funny.

Thoughts:
1. America does not really care about Cindy's half-sisters. No harm done.

2. If she was raised without her half-sisters in the house, then that's a lot like being raised an "only child."

3. If it's a lie (and I wouldn't call it that), then it's probably more about strained relationships and money than about relating to Americans.

4. Agreed. She is a stone cold businesswoman. But I don't think her compassion is a facade.

Well, someone seems a little bit snippy today…

Anyway, I think that Michelle may want to imply that she can be a stay at home Mom, but really now, you know she is going to be out there fighting for Justice and The American Way, Go Super Obama!!!

I'm so sick of the lies from these good upstanding christian americans, I could just scream! The MSM treats the lies of the McCain elite as if they are sacred and shouldn't be discussed. Ol' man Hensley screwed his other daughter and only left her $10,000 when he died eight years ago and apparently, Cindy hasn't found enough love in her heart to admit that her sisters exist or to share the wealth.

I think the other sister is from her Mother's first (whatever) and is much older than Ms. Cindy. I heard they haven't been able to reach her, so who knows where they have her.

Why does commenting on Cindy make me feel like I do when I talk about W?
