Good.
From what I’ve seen, I could really get behind Jindal in 2012 or 2016, and I think that he will be a stronger candidate in the future if he has more experience as a governor (even though he already has FAR more experience than NObama).
Plus, I really feel that McCain’s best choice is Romney. No other candidate has his combination of:
a) economy cred;
b) campaign $$;
c) name recognition, and
d) aggressive campainer
Gary,
An interesting take on Romney by Dick Morris (not that you can trust Dick Morris):
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2008/07/romney_a_mistake_for_mccain.html
dick has zero cred, he’s the guy who said the only person who could keep hillary from the white house was condi, he was wrong on both counts
Disagree here, Dick has good Days and bad Days. He had a good batting average during the primaries and was wrong about Condi, hey, he was predicting right after the 2004 Elections, Iraq hadnt even started downhill Yet.
Principally, if romney is picked watch the map and see parts of the midwest and south Flip Obama.
Like I’ve said before, Jindal is way too smart to tie his name to McCain. He can be president on his own without being tied to a liberal McCain who’s presidency will most likely be a disaster (think: McCain-Feingold, Cap’n Trade, voted against tax cuts, blah, blah, blah…). The man is a liberal who has managed to gain the GOP nomination. Jindal is not stupid, why would he want to be on that ticket?
I lived in Louisiana for 9 years (anyone surprised at that revelation?) and it is one of the most corrupt states in the Union. In those nine years two insurance commissioners and one former governor went to prison. If Jindal can clean up the state, put it on track fiscally, he is indeed the golden child. I would vote for him for president in a heartbeat.
Ed Rendell said he’s out as well and in a moment of self-deprecation he said:
“I haven’t been contacted by anybody — showing that the Obama campaign has good sense,”
You’re not crying in your beer over it, are you, Philly boy?
Nah. I generally like Fast Eddie though. Got a chance to meet him a couple times and he’s always seemed like a decent guy with a good sense of humor.
He did a *ton* to clean up Philly from both a physical and fiscal stand point. And then John Street flushed that all down the toilet.
I have high hopes for Michael Nutter though!
People who need to be on the VP List runnings.
With Buzz:
Sarah Palin: Now head of least experience, but has big assets by not being a ordinary, old White Man.
Romney (All Buzz, doubt it)
Medium Buzz:
Huckabee (Is in Rwanda with Mrs Mccain, dont see Romney doing that)
Condi Rice (has refused???)
Colin Powell (Has refused and joined Obama????)
Former people that had buzz but still have a moderate chance:
Sanford
Pawlenty
Any Dog Food Salesman left.
Predictions
1.- Palin
1.- Romney
2.- Huckabee????
3.-Condi
3.-Powell
4.-Sanford
5.-Pawlenty.
Huckabee, Condi and Powell have no shot at all.
Sanford has too many questions about his conservative credentials.
Palin I just don’t buy at all. Sure, she’s young and attractive and a female (everything that McCain is not) but I really dont see it.
Pawlenty and Romney are the two top candidates in my mind.
David, I know you probably didn’t mean it this way, but I had to laugh when I read…
“Sarah Palin…has big assets…”
Oh my…
Definitely veering away from “family friendly” site at this point.
Absolutely not what I ment.
