The Obama campaign announced that it raised $52 million last month, doubling what his opponent, John McCain raised.

One of the more interesting paragraphs in the story is the Obama campaign’s spending in traditionally red states:

So far, Obama has spent $60,000 in Alaska; $3.5 million in Florida; $1.3 million in Georgia; $1 million in Indiana; $100,000 in Montana; $1 million in North Carolina; and $1.8 million in Virginia, according to a new analysis by TNS/Campaign Media Analysis Group, CNN’s political television advertising consultant.

It seems to me that Obama may be using Ronnie Reagan’s play book to defeat McCain.

Reagan simply outspent the Soviets so badly, they went bankrupt. Obama opted out of federal funds so he can print money. If he forces McCain to spend to simply defend states that Dubbya won twice, it could spell electoral disaster for Johnny Mac.
