We ran out of time on our recent Fox segment, but this was a point we’d discussed in the pre-interview.

Read the CNN piece here.

I think Gore would be a brilliant pick for Obama. He’s never been more popular, he’s 8 years removed from the Clinton stain(s), he’s earned a reputation (fair or not) for being a deep-thinking problem solver, he’s obviously experienced, and he’d be set up for another run of his own if he were interested in 4 or 8 years.

Crazy as that sounds, accepting Obama’s VP spot would be viewed as the ultimate sacrifice for the good of his country. He puts his ego aside for what’s best for the ticket and the party nationally.

And if you think Cheney has been the most influential VP in history, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet, Gore would be viewed as incredibly valuable at home and abroad. He’s got the kind of worldwide respect a president can only dream of. And love him or hate him, there’s no denying the American public at-large has warmed to him since the 2000 election.

Oh, and how about this little fringe benefit? (“We don’t get French benefits?” – name that commercial.)

There are two people who would be cut to the core if Gore were the pick. A certain presently platonic couple from Chappaqua, New York. If you don’t think Gore would love to be the one to take the Veep spot from Hillary, check your pulse. You could be dead.
