Further Proof that Barack is a Mac & Hillary is a PC
Posted on April 30th, 2008 at 8:10 am by Contributor ArchiveFACT: Apple just debuted a new commercial over the weekend for the iPod, featuring the song “Shut Up and Let Me Go.”
FACT: Barack Obama continues to distance himself from the comments Reverend Jeremiah Wright made over the weekend.
Coincidence?

No, synchronicity, as Sting and Jung might say.
Your analogy is perfect. Barack is a Mac - he appeals to intelligent, intuitive folks. Although he seems more prone to “viruses” than Hillary these days.
On Rev. Wright: For someone who professed affection and respect for Obama, he sure is intent on frightening away even middle-class blacks.
What’s up with this guy? Christian love seems to have left his lexicon…
As much as he seems way off on Jupiter, what Wright has said inside his church all these years is not as unique as we might think. I had a buddy of mine work on staff in an AA church for about 8 years, to the point where I saw this type of thinking affect his own worldview (did I mention he was white?). He told me this kind of “theology” is strong in many of the more prestigous seminaries catering to AA pastors and students, especially on the east coast. It’s not as isolated as we think; yet when it’s examined in the national spotlight, you don’t hear any outcries of “Amen, preach it brother!” from those same black caucuses, denominations, or schools. Why isn’t the MSM running to catch them on camera in support of Wright?
Unfortunately, it’s a closet secret. Just don’t tell anyone outside the “family…”
The MSM don’t dare open that door, for fear of revealing the overt anger behind it.
There is a roiling sense of persecution among African Americans, even today. While we “mainstream whites” think all is well, all is not well if you are African American in America. Even celebrities and black multi-millionaires are pulled over by police for “driving while black.”
Shopping while black can bring out every salesperson in a store to “help” you — even the big box ones that seem as unpopulated as Montana.
Walk in a black man’s shoes for a day and you will understand where the anger comes from.
I would agree that there is, but that is my point. If there is such a current of injustice happening, why isn’t the MSM flocking to all of Rev Wright’s buddies and getting them all into the game, demonstrating that what he’s saying is a central issue with African-Americans? I thought the MSM was social injustice watchdogs that ferociously attacked a societal ill if they saw one. Why not now?
And why are the other pastors allowing Wright to speak on their behalf? Because if he is, they should be supportive. And if not, then they should clarify where he’s off track. The silence says a lot.
You’re absolutely right, RedEd. It’s a puzzler to me, too.
There are a lot of things MSM should be telling us about — not the least of which is what’s going on in Iraq and especially Afghanistan, where we are re-invading areas we took five, six years ago and people are serving their sixth and seventh tours.
Of course, that and $4 gas is all Congress’ fault, right?
PS The Baltimore Sun has been doing a little follow up stuff with local ministers, one of whom, Frank Reid III, co-authored a book with Wright. His (Reid’s) church has hosted Wright’s preaching. But it was a short piece (within the last week).
