It is usually my custom to steer clear of taking shots at any particular presidential candidate’s spouse. As a general rule they don’t choose their husband’s career (Hillary Clinton is an obvious exception) so I usually don’t pay much attention to them. This custom gets thrown to the wind when the First Lady In Waiting takes it upon herself the campaign mantle – as has Michelle Obama.

Mrs. Obama – a fairly recent convert to the ranks of proud Americans – has had her share of memorable sound bytes lately. First in my mind was her declaration that:

Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.

Never mind whether or not you want to engage. This isn’t about what you want. This is about what Barack wants. But I digress.

Then, of course, came her admonishment to a group of Ohio women to “steer clear of Corporate America”. Never mind the fact that Corporate America creates jobs and funds all the social programs dear to Mrs. Obama’s heart. Corporate America is full of greedy capitalists whose main goal is filthy lucre. Again, I digress.

Today, however, Michelle Obama truly out did herself. She’s figured out that John Q. Public doesn’t really want all that much. Declared Michelle:

Most Americans don’t want much. They don’t want the whole pie. There are some who do, but most Americans feel blessed just being able to thrive a little bit. But that is becoming even more out of reach. The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.

I’m one of these Americans who sacrificed to get a good education, took out the student loans that Mrs. Obama complained about. Yes, I will be repaying those graduate school loans for a few decades to come. No, I don’t regret the investment I made in myself. Why? Because I’ve gotten a pretty good return on that investment so far.

Yes, Mrs. Obama, maybe I do want the whole pie. I have a lofty goal for my financial future – to have an account with money I simply don’t know what to do with. Unlike you and your husband, I didn’t have a sugar daddy to finance the purchase of my home. Neither have I (yet) written books that sold enough to pay off my student loans. I had to use money I made the old fashioned way – earning it.

I don’t mind – in fact I encourage – charitable giving to help those who are less fortunate. What I do have a problem with is politicians, and their spouses, who fly around on private jets, are driven around in stretch limousines, and live in million dollar homes telling me I need to give up some of my pie so others can have it.

People like Barack and Michelle Obama would use government to further redistribute my wealth to other people they deem more deserving of my money than me. This may seem noble on the surface, but remember that government gets very upset when you take issue with the way it collects your money. The Obamas would forcibly take your pie and penalize you if you didn’t give it to them.

Perhaps you think me a bit extreme in my metaphor? Try not paying your taxes next week. Let me know how that works out for you.

So, Mrs. Obama, with all due respect (however much or little that may be) – keep your hands of my pie.

Here endeth the lesson.

Speaking of First Lady Michelle Obama:

Michelle Obama is a racial-minority individual, and in her heart and mind she inevitably does not endorse hate crimes committed by George W. Bush.

George W. Bush committed hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism (indicated in my blog).

George W. Bush did in fact commit innumerable hate crimes.

And I do solemnly swear by Almighty God that George W. Bush committed other hate crimes of epic proportions and with the stench of terrorism which I am not at liberty to mention.

Many people know what Bush did.

And many people will know what Bush did—even to the end of the world.

    Bush was absolute evil.

Bush is now like a fugitive from justice.

    Bush is a psychological prisoner.

Bush has a lot to worry about.

Bush can technically be prosecuted for hate crimes at any time.

In any case, Bush will go down in history in infamy.

I am not sure where I had read it before, but anyway, it is a linguistically excellent statement, and it goes kind of like this: “If only it were possible to ban invention that bottled up memories so they never got stale and faded.” Oh wait—off the top of my head—I think the quotation came from my Lower Merion High School yearbook.

    Uh Andrea,
You amaze me! You remind me of countless other ignorants that praise and voted for this Obama character. I was listening to people on the radio talking about why they voted Obama and the majority did not know anything about this man. Unlike many of us that do know about him, we did our homework. My husband just retired after 30 years in the Navy, giving his time and total dedication to keep the freedom and voting priveledges for all Americans and all you can say is, “I don’t know who Obama is and am leaning towards not voting’!
As Kantner said ” keep your Karmic oblivion” to yourself until you can gain more respect for those that have fought for your right to vote and maybe you might want to get a school “charity loan” to educate yourself and your ignorance on this Country’s History and those that have fought to keep this Country the Great and Powerful Country that it is.
Oh, and while you are schooling yourself, read up on the All Mighty Obama you will not be be surprised that there are many others that are just as ingnorant as you.
We (those that have a bigger piece of the pie) already give enough as it is, Under Obama we have just been guaranteed to have to give more. And oh, by the way…..did you know that this ignorant idiot that has been voted in wants to set up a Civilian National Security Force, that’s after he cuts the Defense budget? You may want to read up on this guy before you go babbling out your ignorant liberal thoughts.

Somehow some Americans never fail to make me gag. First off, why is the article and all subsequent comments filled with “I” statements? You all are selfish. Mrs. Obama is just like you and I. Human. With opinions and views and a mouth to state them. Universal health care is needed. I know hard working parents whose children cannot go to the doctor and your somehow better because you have debt? I will do what I can to help anyone in need. I have worked hard just like you all say you have. But the difference is that I am not selfish. That is what makes me feel humbled, enpowered and great. Love the “I” statement????

How can the author of the article justify her elementary writing and views with the fact that she that she didn’t have a “sugar daddy” to pay off student loans? As if we should award her a medal of honor for having outstanding debit and no spouse able to assist. How does one who accepted the charity of the government in the form of a GOVERNMENT LOAN, that is NOT PAID OFF, claim they work HARD! SOME PEOPLE PAY FOR COLLEGE WITH CASH!!! Heard of no credit? I went to college. Should I get an award? I am a mother…award please. I also have an employed spouse and outstanding debt, can we count down to my award ceremony please???!!! No one wants a piece of your selfish, uncooked pie! I will gladly share my pie that is FULLY COOKED with love.

And also, why in God’s name would anyone, a Presidential candidate at that, give up a private jet or any luxury they worked for and deserve? They WORK HARD just like you CLAIM you do. Do you have a jet or even a car that didn’t require a loan? The Obamas are giving up their time, their personal lives, family, and possibly even their safety. Obama is the only presidential candidate for me and according to past and recent polls most of the country agrees, check the Derbster! I am still getting to know him. But opposed to LYING Hillary and her LYING First Lady BILL, and who ever this old looking McCain REPUBLICAN jerk is… I’d stick with the OBAMAS! Michelle may not be the best to look at or even to listen to but to act as if your better because you have debt (hence tight pockets), is disgusting and mindless.

Lastly how is Michelle writing books not means to pay off debt? Is this not a job? I guess Danielle Steel is unemployed and in need of health care and a sugar daddy. Pie anyone?

Tons of emotion, zero logic. Apparently you are so crazy about Barack Hussein Obama that you can’t or won’t face that he and his wife are socialists. Socialism is the government forcibly taking the people’s money to give that money to whoever the government (not the people at large, the government) decides is worthy of that money. Socialism is theft masquerading as charity. Like you, I donate some of my time, effort, and money voluntarily to help other Americans (besides what is taxed away from me.) Unlike you, I don’t think it is our government’s place to force American private citizens to “donate” to “help” someone.

      • Andrea

Sorry Brian West. I have never been one to craze and if you can read I clearly stated that I am not 100 percent on him either. Don’t use what you see from the media and apply that to me to throw disrespectful comments because your fingers feel type power. I don’t craze over anyone. It’s not our governments place to “force” Americans to donate to citizens? Are you thinking about what you are saying? According to the writer of the article, he/she has student loans? Hum..chairty. Every tax you pay is darn close to being a mandated chairty. Bottom line. I never said I wanted to be forced to pay anything. I do understand Socialism, clearly. Thanks for the undesired clairifaction. I was saying I didn’t agree with the writers opinions on the issues I stated. That was clearly communicated. It sounds to me like you have an altered understanding of my problem. The article was written from a selfish perspective giving the impression that helping was a disease and selfishness was the cure. In my opinion there are bigger problems than having to pay an extra $100 a month for charity. Problems much larger than obviously you children can comprehend. I am one to believe in Karma and I plant many seeds for wonderful harvest. You can keep your pennies, keep your dollars and pump your fists in the air and protest to support poverty. In the meantime, I will be working hard at solving real problems. I am proud to be an American. I am not proud that this country is so divided and being targeted because of selfish, cruel and evil souls. You are so immature. Barak Hussein? WTF!!! Why are people not considering this racist?? People are so pissed at this man or pissed at any candidate that they don’t deserve the common courtesy of being addressed by their proper name. Barak is being compared to a terrorist??? WTF is wrong with yall? He should be hung and the country of his residence bombed? What did this man do to you that you are so angry at him? You all are too persuaded by the media and want so desperately to have your issues addressed that you are not looking at the facts. Good ALWAYS WINS! God bless!

        • Kantner

          Uh… Andrea
          1. How is a loan charity? It’s actually a money making proposition for the loaner, right? I mean, there is interest involved.
          2. Hussein is Barack’s actual middle name, is it not? How is it racist to utilize a man’s name?
          3. You say “you can keep your pennies” but is not the whole point of this article that if Michelle has her way you will, in fact, not be able to choose to keep those pennies?

Slow it down a little bit before you rish headlong into Karmic oblivion.

        • Andrea

OKAY OKAY….I shall hit the brakes. Maybe I should have known this. THIS BASTARDS MIDDLE NAME IS HUSSEIN?????!!!!! ARE U KIDDING ME! I still stand for everything I said. Really. I do believe loans are charity. In the same breath, I do apologize for saying that calling this man by his name was racist. I did state that I am not a full fledge Obama supporter so I have not researched him nor any other candidate. Again I do stand for everything I said. It seems as if everyone is coming down OSAMA HUSSEIN (hehe) for being a Democrat or whatever but as an American I cannot deny the fact that this Obama thing does seem a bit strange. I am leaning towards not even voting. May sound ignorant but I am totally confused on the direction of this country.

Great post. I found you from another blog.

The Obamas get scarier and scarier. I love how Mrs. Barrack is finally proud to be an American….even after she was educated at some of the finest schools this country has to offer, and makes more money than 10 middle class families combined.

I don’t want them taking any more of my precious income so they can throw it at people they deem more deserving. (Socialism anyone?)

  • RedStateEddio

Isn’t this a classic definition of “limousine liberal”?

Just shut your pie-hole and do what Obama tells you. Obama knows best. Obama feels your pain. Obama loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life…oh wait, that’s Jesus. My bad. Seems like they’re getting interspersed with each other these days.

    • Brian H

Red…Your comment is blasphemy. I hope you retract it in good taste. How dare you compare Obama with Jesus. Everyone knows that Jesus has nothing on Obama.

Jesus only walked on water, turned water to wine, bread to food for thousands, healed the sick, and sacrificed himself for our sins.

Obama has ummmmmm well, he did uhhhhhhh, and he wants to hmmmmmmmmmmmm, and he gives a good speech….and looks better than McCain in a swimsuit.

And! Was Jesus ever endorsed by Oprah?

      I rest my case.

      • RedStateEddio

I was hoping the sarcasm in my comment was blatant and obvious. You’re exactly right. There’s more than an ocean of difference.

But reading and watching the reactions of many Obamaniacs these days, you’d think they’re right on par with each other. That’s what I was trying to highlight.

        • Brian H

Your point was obvious and well taken.

The GREAT thing is that Obama, or as I like to call him, General Zod, is a walking time bomb. Everyday the reality of Barak becomes more and more apparant.

  • Toby

Unsure what this is supposed to mean, unless the poster thinks that they wouldn’t have to pay taxes under a McCain or Clinton Administration- otherwise, this is just posturing and trying to attack someone on an inconsistent standard

    • Brian H

      Toby.

Do you not get tired of having to defend the idiocy of this candidate? I for one do not get tired of you defending him, your ability to spin is very entertaining.

Thanks for your unwavering loyalty. Let me know how the Kool-Aid tastes.

  • Brian H

THANK YOU for posting this Cordeiro, her statements do more to expose the Obamas’ view of America, its people, and capitalism than any “Hope” or “Change” campaign slogan ever could. We ALL realize statements like this will have NO impact on the radical “fellow-travelers” who march behind Obama with their hammer and sickle waiting to redistribute the the wealth that others have created, yet for the so called “independents”, we will have to wait and see where they fall.

  • dw

    grrrr… @#%&* Socialists.

Here’s my plan: every single one of those idiots espousing this crazy socialist philosophy should sell their luxury items, and donate all of their salary (less the average salary in the USA) to those they think deserve more of the pie. Then, donate what is left to their favorite socialist dictator.

  • Eric

Pretty simple philosophical differences re: redistribution of wealth. It’s ironic that people think they will be better managers of money if they only had more of it.

I don’t usually complain much about taxes because at my modest income level, I don’t pay that much. BUT I agree with the philosophy that nobody will make better decisions about my money that I will. When I make a good choice, I am rewarded. And when I make a bad choice, I bear the responsibility. (Contra rewarding people who buy houses they obviously can’t afford.)

Now, Mrs. Obama, I don’t know if my pie qualifies as one to be taken from, or one to be added to, BUT the idea that the Obamas should be the deciders is offensive. Here’s an idea. Why don’t you encourage those people who give millions to Barry’s campaign to sent it to the US Treasury instead? Oops. That’s the wrong pie, huh?
