Eliot Spitzer has announced his resignation as governor of NY, and on Monday he will be replaced by Lt. Gov David Paterson. Spitzer is a Hillary supporter, and, thanks to him, Hillary just lost a pledged super delegate. I may have heard (and if not, then I am starting the rumor now) that Paterson, conversely, supports Barack Obama. Come Convention Time the gubernatorial change would effectively end up swinging two votes to Obama: the added vote plus the one taken from Hillary. For a race that won’t end soon, every little bit helps (or hurts). Obama can thank Spitzer for hooking him up.
