Hey,
I am a white man named Bob O'Bannion, and not only will I not vote for Obama, if he was elected, allthough I am a decorated veteran I would probably move to Australia.
Not because he is Black, but because he is an idiot, and has no business running the french fry counter at McDonalds, let alone the most powerfull nation in the world.

You are correct when referring to Obama you say "there's just nothing there".

It is nice we now have something we agree on.

"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position.....And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept."
- Former VP candidate Geraldine Ferraro.

Ferraro is taking heat for this statement but I ask the question, where is she wrong?

What we are seeing with the Obama fellow-travelors is a nation-wide affirmitive actione program to relieve "white-guilt", it makes us feel better about ourselves. We are not willing to support reparations so we will show our solidarity with the black community by supporting Obama. Essentialy Obama is the white-mans "carbon offset". Personally, I have more respect for the black community than to support a guy who is clearly unprepared for the job just because he is African American.

I know Toby and few others will try to convince me, and themselves, that Obama is the man for the job but we all know the truth. If Barak Obama were a white, less than 1 term senator, named Bob O'Bannion, who in this country would believe his resume is up to par? NOBODY!

People often say America needs to have an "honest" conversation on race.......but when we do our words can and will be held against us, so we stay away.

People support Obama for no other reason than for the fact that they feel they have finally found an acceptable African American to support. This is unfair to the country, to the black community, and to Barak Obama himself. Obama is a good man, a smart man,and an "articulate" voice for his policies and vision. But we should expect more from him, hold him accountable, and be willing to support him when he is ready....not 1 minute sooner.

I will not against Obama because he is black, I will not vote for him because he is black. I will vote against him because I disagree with him. He deserves that amount of respect, from me and others.

absurd. Obama's been under the microscope. Rezko has gotten more coverage than the connection warrants- and the Tribune and the Sun have been searching for something for YEARS with the Rezko connection. Maybe- there's just nothing there.

The latest cover of Rolling Stone (www.rollingstone.com)
portrays Obama as Messiah (or at least as Luke Skywalker). How can anyone live up to the "hopes" they have pinned on this guy?

I loved the Spritzer Sleazoulis ad on First Friday...

As far as the Dem's.. They will beat each other up and in the end hand over a complete handbook of "How to beat the Democrat Nominee in 2008" to McCain.
