In Bawlmore, hon, children are registered Democrat at birth. Or they were back in the Pleistocene when I was born.

Maryland is a Democratic state almost by definition and rarely, if ever, have national candis campaigned here.

But these days, with the “Chesapeake Primary” following a week on the heels of SupercalifragiFatTuesday, Barack Obama is in heavy rotation on TV. It’s a variety of ads, from Obama’s voice alone over clips to endorsements from Congressionalia and Caroline Kennedy.

Just caught an ad for Johnny Mac. Strange and different, though quite a treat to be wooed finally…

As for tomorrow, by all accounts voter registration is soaring among 18-to-30-year-olds. If they all turn out to vote, Hillary may have a tough time even in her “home” state of New York. I think she will squeak by Obama in New York, but few other places.

We won’t know the results from California until Wednesday, maybe Thursday, because they are counting paper ballots. That race will be too close to call; they’ll be counting absentee ballots to resolve it.

Cumulative results for tomorrow: McCain will take 56% of all delegates; Romney 31%; Huckaboom 13%. Since many Dem votes are winner-take-all, Obama will garner more delegates than Hillary. It will be close enough, though, to leave the ultimate winner’s determination to the summer convention…
