Despite shocking the world by winning a delegate in the Wyoming caucus, it appears that Duncan Hunter may be set to bow out of the running for the GOP nominations.

It’s been reported that Hunter is set to make “a major announcement” regarding his candidacy later today in New Hampshire.

With Hunter’s anticipated exit, I will move Bill Richardson into the top slot on my “next to withdraw” list.

**UPDATE** In a stunning reversal, Duncan Hunter’s “major announcement” turned out to be a vow to continue in the race, while railing against his exclusion from the sleepy GOP debate on Saturday. Lord knows that mess could have used any help it could get.

“I’m not going to let some arrogant corporate media executive — by blacking me out, by taking me off the presidential debates just a few hours before the polls are opened — to decide whether or not this campaign is over,” Hunter said.
