The “We report, you decide” network decided that viewers may only decide from among their choices: Giuliani, Romney, Huckabee, McCain and Thompson. In response to the exclusion of Ron Paul and Duncan Hunter, the New Hampshire Republican Party (co-sponsors of the forum) urged Fox News to allow all candidates to participate. When Fox refused to extend invitations to Paul and Hunter, the New Hampshire GOP withdrew its support from the event. While Hunter’s campaign has not fared well, Paul has raised more money than most candidates, is polling higher in NH than Thompson, and at 10%, finished well ahead of Giuliani in Iowa. Other than gross bias, there doesn’t seem to be an explanation for the actions of the network. Fox News should be embarrassed and ashamed of itself. So much for “fair and balanced”.
