Former Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Joe Lieberman, an Independent Senator from Connecticut, will apparently endorse Republican Presidential candidate John McCain, according to an AP report.

How much this helps McCain remains to be seen, but given the independent-minded New Hampshire voters, it is very unlikely to hurt his cause.

Mitt Romney continues to lead in the polls in NH, but with Mike Huckabee’s surge, a Romney loss in Iowa could lead to his support softening in the Granite State. Given the Straight Talker’s success there in 2000, John McCain could very well become a serious contender again with a win.
