Well if you didn’t believe Bill, the devoted and faithful husband who still may not be sure what “is” means, then you simply have to believe Hillary’s mother. How could anyone hope to find a more objective source than a candidate’s own mother?

Hillary’s mom, Dorothy Rodham, who, if she’s anything like her daughter, is likely tell you she was named in honor of the Wizard of Oz movie, is appearing in a (pro) Hillary ad in Iowa. The “she’s a good person” message is about as believable as Roger Clemens’ claim that he never took performance enhancing drugs.

Did I say Obama hasn’t been up front?

All I said is that he was correct that those questions would be raised. It is Obama’s fault for not laying all the cards on the table in a national speech like Mitt did on his religion, but instead saying “read my book”. We are at the point where more and more canidates are going to have to admit to at least trying drugs.

in other words, if you can find any indication that Obama’s been anything less than utterly candid about his drug use (certainly more than can be said of our last two Presidents) than I think you have an issue. There’s absolutely nothing in his background or character to suggest that he would have ever needed or wanted to deal drugs (besides, in some people’s minds, the fact that he’s black) and he’s been utterly upfront about his use, and the mistake it was. I think it might be something that a Republican might ask, and it would be something that would backfire in a major way (as it has everytime its been brought up as an issue thus far)

    they’re all answered

Obama and drug use will be front and center. I don’t think Bill Shaheen raised any questions that wouldn’t be asked in a national campaign. I’d like to know the answers to those questions and I bet most of America would as well.

haha… not nearly as much as the GOP candidates are tearing each other up. The issue is really that she hasn’t got much on Obama, and her attacks on him aren’t weakening him much, if at all. He’ll still be plenty strong to take on whatever of their jokes or compromises the GOP decides to put forth

  • Troy La Mana

I say let them beat each other up. You’ll end up with a weakened Democratic canidate who the Republican canidate will tear up using what the other Democrats have already said.

even if she wins the nomination now, it won’t have been on her terms, and she’ll be obligated to at least attempt to appear as a uniter for change and reconciliation, instead of the liberal anti-Bush she clearly hoped to be.

Milwaukee’s Best Light FOR THE WIN!

as long as Bud Light isn’t included on anything but the throwaway list, I’m fine.

And Hillary just plain doesn’t seem nice. I don’t understand her tactics. She should be playing to her strengths, not trying to beat Obama at his (or trying to attack him for her weaknesses, as she’s been doing)

Hillary- if you don’t want to totally lose this thing, you need to stop focusing on character, stop focusing on ethics, stop focusing on change and new politics, stop focusing on niceness or likability.

Obama is better than you on those bad things and better than you on those good things. You aren’t going to win a nice battle with Barack Obama. Atacking his ethics is only going to make people think more about yours. If Obama has done one thing in particular extremely brilliantly throughout this campaign, its been defining the race on his terms. The debate yesterday was a perfect example. Every single Dem candidate was talking about new politics, change, etc. Instead of playing into Obama’s playbook and trying to beat him at his game, Hillary should be playing her own game and pulling him into it.

She’s failed. For all that was said of her as a cold, calculating, ruthless politician, it seems that she has been played from start to finish here.

How much did Hillary pay her?

LOL…speaking of family members, remember Billy Beer?

On each can: “I had this beer brewed just for me. I think it’s the best I’ve ever tasted. And I’ve tasted a lot. I think you’ll like it, too.”

BTW: Consumer Reports rated Strogh’s as the best tasting domestic beer. I don’t say that to start a nasty fight. I know different people like different beers…matter of taste, of course. But don’t cheap beer as rot-gut.

CR also rated light beers. Instead of a winner, they had a Very Good category…which included Busch Light, Natural Light, and Keystone Light.
