While a ‘Draft Clinton’ petition would be funnier, the Draft Gore petition is a real thing, though it had gone mostly unnoticed until the former VP was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Amassing 70,000 online signatures in less than a week, the online and paper petitions aimed to convince Al Gore to run for the Democratic nomination now boast over a quarter million signatures.

Gore has repeated denied any interest in running, most likely because he doesn’t want to lose again, but after an Oscar for his work on An Inconvenient Truth (which, inconveniently, contained quite a number of untruths) and now a Nobel Prize, his supporters are getting more heated up than the Earth, even pretending Gore’s over estimations of global warming are correct. Is there a chance he will run? Anything’s possible, but a successful Al Gore presidential run is about as likely as Gore’s climatic predictions coming true.
