What issues did Political Derby find most interested CLC attendees? The results are fairly predictable for a gathering dubbed The Conservative Leadership Conference. But the most interesting result could be on social issues. It ranked just the sixth most important issue. Does this explain Rudy’s continued lead in the polls? Are conservatives holding their noses on the party’s core social issues? The results:

Was there a “should we attack Iran?” question?

I think social issues are very important. Our country was founded because we did not approve of the way things were else where so why are we trying to chage the way things are here to comform to the rest of the world? Who would have thought that we would acutally have to define marriage as being between a man and a woman. I also think immigration is very important simply because if you come to america and want to live here and work here and take advantage of our benefits then you should speak english and do all things americans do like be a legal citizen and pay taxes. Our teachers should not have to speak spanish and our signs and labels should not have to be in spanish. We do not have signs in any other language and there are immigrants here from all over the world. About the war, I feel that since we are already involved we should be there until the new gov’t can handle things properly and effectively on their own. If we do not then all the lives lost would have been lost for nothing. Even though loss of human life is never ok, there have been more lives lost in other wars. This war does not compare to others in our history in death toll. One more thing and then I am done. I feel we should work on alternative fuel sources. They are cheaper and better for our environment. There is no sense in americans paying almost 3.00 a gallon when other countries pay .25 per gallon. Alternative fuel would free us from the oppression of big oil and take some of the wind out of middle east oil’s sails.
