Giuliani’s NH ad says he’s the Republican who can win

Posted on October 3rd, 2007 at 11:14 am by Contributor Archive

In New Hampshire, hoping to stave off next door neighbor Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani has released new ad spots detailing his credentials. In the ads, Rudy claims to be tough on terrorism. He also states that he will stimulate economic growth by reducing the size of government, always a popular platform in the “Live Free or Die” state.

Perhaps more than anything else, Rudy’s campaign continues to assert that he offers the best chance for the Republicans to win against the Democratic nominee, often presumed to be Hillary Clinton. The ad finishes with “Rudy Giuliani. The Republican that Democrats just don’t want to run against.” True enough. Hillary would much rather take on an ultra conservative flip-flopper such as Romney rather than do battle against the more centrist and consistent Giuliani.

    Great post Ethan,

I agree, Rudy is the only GOP candidate that can defeat Hillary.

Are you kidding? I think Romney will own Hillary if he gets the nomination. If the American people are going to vote Democrat (hope not) than they’ll vote for the real one. Just because Giuliani is pro choice doesn’t mean he’s the most electable republican.

Wrong. If Ron Paul isn’t the primary winner, Ron Paul supporters will write in Ron Paul (if we have to carve it into the Diebold machine screens)…thus splitting the GOP vote, resulting in a Dem win.

It’s either Ron Paul or some Dem for president 2008.

    Anyway, speaking of NH,

Ron Paul won ALL THREE NH straw polls. Heck, he has placed first in MANY straw polls.

NH’s The Union Leader and the Concord Monitor came up with two very good articles.

Meanwhile, NH’s mainstream media is not only ignoring Ron Paul…they are attacking him.

What is the deal with Ron Paul and his supporters? Read this: http://dailypaul.com/node/2449
WARNING: This isn’t a little PD quickie…it is an in-depth article.

    Nathan,

The polls indicate that Rudy is the only candidate that has a shot at it next year.

If Iraq still requires this many troops at the time of the election, then I seriously doubt a pro-war candidate will win. The candidate better hope that we’ve already started a pull-out. Very few will vote pro-war if they are thinking 5 more years of occupation and $500b more.

The polls mean nothing. Romney doesn’t have the name recognition yet. When people really get to know Romeny they like him. He has a ton of resources and he is the best leader. I would take Romney any day.

I like Romney as well, but I don’t think he has what it takes to survive in the very difficult anti-GOP environment.

Romney has a lot going for him than Rudy does, I would agree. Much more capable. Unfortunately, little details like suggesting doubling the size of guantanamo and considering Jeb as his running mate would (rightfully) scare of Dems.

I don’t know about that TL. With Romney being more of a moderate/conservative I bet he could win over more people from both sides than expected and help reduce the difficult anit-GOP environment you speak of. Just my opinion though.

I’d vote for Romney, wouldn’t even cross the street to support Rudy.

Rudy can win only if the voters see what a fke, phony, fraud Madame Hillary is. We can’t afford to give more of our money to illegals for them to get better housing, schoolong and medical care.

    Vote, but not for Hillary!!!!!

oh yeah, the casinos and gaming industry love him too

Rudy Giulian is the LEAST likely Republican to win. A lot of conservatives like me will never vote for him. I won’t suport a Republican candidate for chief executive charged with protecting and defending The Constitution, who doesn’t even UNDERSTAND America’s founding docy=uments. A nominated Rudy will lose, and many will blame people like me, instead of the foolish people who nominated him.
