Mayor Rudy Giuliani, America’s mayor and champion of killing the comb-over, has come out with THE TWELVE COMMITMENTS he is making to the American people.

Think of Rudy, or any of the candidates, what you will. If these are backed up with actions (which will be difficult considering Democrats will still exist and they’re opposed to individual liberty) they will represent one of the most ambitious and conservative agendas that we’ve seen in a long time.

Here are the points:

1. I will keep America on offense in the Terrorists’ War on Us. (No matter how the war in Iraq is going, this will be an easy and important case to make to the American people. If we, as a population, didn’t have the attention span of a 5 year old and our microwave, Veruca Salt “I want it now” mentality, this would be the number one issue. Unfortunately we do, so it’s not. But it’s good to see this said.)
2. I will end illegal immigration, secure our borders, and identify every non-citizen in our nation. (How sad is it that we have to have a declaration by any candidate to enforce the laws? Shows how lost we’ve become.)
3. I will restore fiscal discipline and cut wasteful Washington spending. (This is the dream, isn’t it?)
4. I will cut taxes and reform the tax code. (Would like to know which taxes, and also have a pledge not to raise any taxes, but this is a good start.)
5. I will impose accountability on Washington. (Vague, but sounds good.)
6. I will lead America towards energy independence. (Just say, “Screw you, hippies! We’re drilling in ANWR while we look for something better.)
7. I will give Americans more control over, and access to, healthcare with affordable and portable free-market solutions. (Freedom in healthcare? Amen!)
8. I will increase adoptions, decrease abortions, and protect the quality of life for our children. (Yawn! Nice sounding, will please people, but other than people with kids, who cares? We aren’t big fans of appeals to “working families.” We work, but don’t have families. Where’s our love?)
9. I will reform the legal system and appoint strict constructionist judges. (Tort reform forever! Too bad the Dems are owned by the trial lawyers and will never allow this to happen.)
10. I will ensure that every community in America is prepared for terrorist attacks and natural disasters. (Not sure every community needs to be prepared for a terrorist attack. Who’s going to hit Toledo? If someone hit Detroit, how would you know? And couldn’t they just have San Francisco?)
11. I will provide access to a quality education to every child in America by giving real school choice to parents. (School choice ROCKS! But again, the Dems are also owned by the teacher’s unions. They will never allow this to happen. Not because they don’t care about the education of children, it’s that they care more about saving their jobs than they do about what’s best for children. Just think of all the crappy teachers we could get rid of, leaving only the good ones that really love their jobs. It’s win-win, for everyone except the union fat-cats who collect dues and spend that cash. But it would really be a good thing for everyone if we had school choice.)
12. I will expand America’s involvement in the global economy and strengthen our reputation around the world. (Expanding the economy is good, but do we REALLY want to be loved by the rest of the world? The rest of the world seems to be moving in our directions. Even France and Germany have moved to the right in the last few years. We’re doing ourselves good by doing what is right, no matter how unpopular that may be. We have to act in the best interest of ourselves first, and our allies second. Giving a damn about what other think about it matters not.)

All in all, on the big issues that are really going to have to be addressed soon, Rudy appears to be on the right side of them. He certainly isn’t proposing “a government program in every pot” like the Democrats are.
