Tom Bevan of RCP says, “Don’t count out McCain just yet”

Posted on May 19th, 2007 at 9:30 am by PD Administrator

Tom Bevan of RealClearPolitics penned a very good op/ed on why Senator John McCain should not be counted out just yet. It’s a smart, well-written argument. Excerpt below, entire article here.

He’s too disliked by conservatives. He’s trailing in the national polls. He’s not raising enough money. For months the media’s storylines on John McCain have all focused on the reasons why he won’t win the Republican nomination for president, but perhaps they should start focusing on the reasons he could.

Wishful thinking on RCPs part. They want a competitive race as long as they can get it. McCain is toast. He’s the only one who doesn’t know it yet.

After this latest McCain buster of supporting the “amnesty” bill, his profanity laced argument with another GOP senator who disagrees with McCain’s support of the amnesty bill, and McCain-Feingold legislation - McCain is history! C’mon Romney to the rescue!

Is there a bigger Romney cheerleader anywhere online than Jacosta? If you’re not on the Mitt payroll, you ought to be :)
