These days, it’s only Franken’s mirror claiming: “I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me.”

Al Franken began each Stuart Smalley skit on Saturday Night Live with the quote “I’m Good Enough, I’m Smart Enough, and Doggone It, People Like Me.” These days, Franken seems to continue this self-affirmation as every project he touches continues to fail. This began with his radio show. The Al Franken Show was the flagship talk radio show on Air America. 2 1/2 years after its launch, Air America Radio filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. Now, Franken is trailing Coleman for a Minnesota Senate seat by a large margin despite the negative environment for Republicans. While 8 of 10 people recognize him, nearly 1/3 have high unfavorable opinions of Franken. That mirror will become pretty dang handy if he continues his career in politics.
