Not ready Freddy

During an appearance yesterday in Tampa, Thompson made it clear that he was in no hurry to decide on a presidential bid for next year:
Thompson said he believes he has plenty of time to get his message out if he runs.
“I think campaigns are too long,” he said. “You don’t need to be running for years and raising millions and millions of dollars.”
Thompson said he will base his decision not on the other candidates, but on whether he thinks he is man for the job.
So when he speaks he disappoints, and when he wants to be president…well he’ll let you know.
Obviously, there’s nothing wrong with any of that. It’s arguably the toughest job in the world, not something to take lightly. Fred Thompson didn’t ask for the Reagan mantle, but many conservatives have been quick to thrust it upon him. With liberals like Rudy and Romney currently leading the pack, maybe you can’t blame them.
But Fred Thompson does not want this job. Even if he does eventually decide to run, you won’t convince me otherwise. A Thompson candidacy could spell disaster for the GOP, perhaps leaving them on the outside of the Beltway looking in.
