Bloomberg for president
Posted on May 11th, 2007 at 9:25 pm by Stephen Fountain, EditorCurrent New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is fueling speculation that he will run for the Democrat Republican nomination for president. The Houston Chronicle reported on Bloomberg’s energy plan:
The Republican billionaire outlined an energy plan that proposes creating profit motives for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, building new wind farms and nuclear plants, phasing out the incandescent light bulb and setting early deadlines to accomplish these goals.
Bloomberg recently re-launched his mayoral campaign website so people could “learn all about him.” In addition to promoting policies that would earn him a front seat at the Green Party’s annual organizational dinner Bloomberg took the uncanny approach of - praising Bush.
Government that wants to encourage private investment in clean energy sources can “begin by learning a lesson” from Bush, who signed a law when he was Texas governor that helped create a major market for renewable energy in the state.
So, he appeals to Democrats, and reaches out to Republicans. Independent run, anybody? Read the rest.
