Looks like the Politico’s Edwards source was out of the loop, or the decision to suspend wasn’t finalized. My understanding is that this source is codenamed “Curveball.”

But seriously, Elizabeth’s cancer could be treatable (although apparently not curable) for many years. She’s a brave lady, and her courage is admirable. We need to keep fighting this cancer scourge until we find a way to cure it — I think you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who doesn’t know someone whose life has been cut tragically far too short.

From the horserace perspective here at the Derby, Edwards’ decision to stay in the race is fantastic news. Did we really want the Democratic race basically narrowed down to just two contenders 10 months before the Iowa Caucus? Heck no! The more the merrier. Hopefully some more horses will jump in.
